So i had this beer at Bangers Anniversary party and it was a huge surprise to me. Fast forward to today and i saw that Whole Foods Domain has it on tap: http://www.beermenus.com/places/16886-draft-shack-at-whole-foods-domain. So i just drove up there during my lunch to get my growlers filled and the dude there says they don't have permission from their buyer to fill growlers of that beer. Has anyone heard of anything like that? Also does anyone know anywhere else in austin carrying this beer?
This is pretty common practice for very limited beers. I'm guessing it's a 30L or 50L keg and they only got one.
Only comes in 5.16 gallon and is significantly more expensive than most kegs I buy. Roughly the same cost as DFH 120 kegs
Word on the street is that Lilikoi Kepolo will be in cans next spring or summer. Word also is, that I will have a case of it at the house at all times. Cheers, Chad EDIT: Before you ask the source, I don't have one. You'll either have to choose to believe the hearsay or not.
Word also also is, that Petrol Station currently has it on... and are FILLING GROWLERS OMGWTFBBQ!! As you were.
It's pretty common. Everyone wants to try rare beers, and they usually come in small kegs. By selling pints only you give way more people a chance to try it, otherwise it would just sell out in 10 minutes to the first few people to come with a growler.
Yeah. We (bangers) got two kegs of it, one for anni party and one that we tapped a month later. We sold it in 9oz pours to ensure more people got to try it. That shit was delicious! Have any of you tried any of the brewery only barrel series bottles from Avery? We had Rufus Corvus and a coworker got a hold of a case of the #20. A barrel aged sour with lime and ginger. I highly recommend hunting that one down.
