It got label approval towards the end of August. I'd expect it to show up sometime this month, but I haven't heard anything.
24 Diner is doing an Avery beer dinner tomorrow, at which Oud Floris will be served. Maybe that's the only reason Avery got it approved. But from a financial standpoint, that doesn't make much sense. BK
The label approval was for 12oz bottles. You don't generally get a label approval for 12oz bottles for a tasting unless there is distribution to follow.
Dihos Dactylion is also at the tasting, and that's a year and a half old. I would be surprised if it came here. There were only 225 cases made, and released in June or something. That being said, I'm glad I'm going to the dinner tomorrow.
Went to the Avery dinner and spoke to the rep. BK1017 was right. They got label approval for the event, and it won't be coming to TX retail shelves. That said- it's a delicious, extremely sour beer.
Wouldn't it be nice to go back to where not as many people loved sour beer? Demand is getting out of hand I tell ya...
Although I can appreciate sour beer, I'd rather the vast majority of people gravitate to sour beers so I can have all of the Stouts, IPAs, etc.
Well, you give me your sours...and I will give you my IPAs. I get tons of hoppy stuff as extras in trade and I feel like it is such a waste! I like them, but I get enough of them to drink IPAs regularly, which I do not.
Sours are too tough to get. I don't go out of my way. Love Child #2 is the only US made sour I really liked a lot. Cantillons and Drie Fonteinen are both good, but we both know how hard those are to find. lol
