Saw some today at TW Tustin for either $12 or $13. One bottle limit. Wasn't sure if anyone was looking for this but I thought I would let people know because it's pretty tasty.
just checked online on a place by my house , $17.99! damn i think ill pass on this guy, allways wanted to try it but not that much. thanks for the heads up ill keep my eyes out for some for less than that
Grabbed one from Josh at WF LB for $13.99. Growing weary of these expensive one-offs but it sounded amazing and I'm a huge fan of their Uncle Jacob's, so I went for it. Had the Almanac heirloom last night and it was quite tasty. This will be very different naturally but looking forward to it.
I bought one today at my local BevMo, most expensive bottle i've bought in a long time, i think it was 15.99. I kind of thought "this might be my Thanksgiving night beer".....
I don't think you'll be disappointed Mike. I had it 2 years ago the Citra release at KRBC and it was all good. But the price is high for a 12oz. Found one bottle at HB Bevmo a month later for 12 bones. Opened it that Halloween with two bro-in laws. Its a big beer in a small bottle. Was not seen here last year. I also got mine from WFLB. I'd rather buy the Rumpkin than Dogfish 120.
While the price is on the high side for the size, at least the 12 oz is something one person could handle, two if you just wanted 6 oz each. Many often complain how High ABV beers in 750 ml for example, while encouraging sharing, sometimes you just want a bottle for yourself w/out worrying about wasting or getting destroyed by drinking the whole bottle. One of those arguments that has merits on all sides imho. I use Bourbon County stout in contrast to Black Tuesday as examples. Both great imo, but I'd prefer the 12 oz format, personally. As for Rumpkin, great beer. I'll be on the lookout.
Liked it, didn't love it, especially at that price point. Shared it with a buddy and enjoyed Alamanac a bit more. Yes, different brews for sure but dug Almanac a bit more. Yes David, I'd much rather buy the Avery over the 120. That beer is a joke. As far as BC, I only wish we could get it here. One of the best beers I've ever had.
I just picked up a bottle of Rumpkin at Total Wine and More in Redondo Beach for $12.99. The bottle is not on the shelf and there is a 1 bottle per person limit.
