So I was going through my cellar and I forgot that I had a bottle of this. I have a few other of the one offs from Avery (later Samaels and Mephistopheles), but for this one in particular because it's so old, I'm wondering if anyone has seen trades go down for this recently. I am considering trading it if it's worth anything, since I just have the one bottle and there may be someone who values it more highly than I do. But I don't have a good idea on how to value it. I've honestly forgotten what I paid for it or when I got it, other than it was at my local bottle shop's annual cellar release sale where they sell off things they've cellared longer than they want and need the space for new items.

Thanks for any insight into this one.

I may have answered my own question and should have searched, first. Looks like there was a thread from Dec 2012 where someone asked about various beers including the 2006 Samaels. Looks like probably not much trade value as Avery seems to sit on these for a while and then send them out already "aged". I guess they're not particularly rare because of this.

I was unaware of this and assumed I had a sleeper in my cellar.

I had one a few months ago. My sink seemed to have enjoyed it.

I was going to come on here to hate, but you actually sound reasonable. You found it in your cellar, so it is basically free beer. Trade it to someone who wants it for some cool locals. Or, trade out some Surly and extra it.
