Finally tried the barrel aged version last night and it was great.

To me, Tweak is obviously a lot more boozy tasting than the regular BCBS, but it seemed to drink a little easier. BCBS has lot more complex bourbon notes behind every sip. Tweak was great though with a lot of heat with every sip.

It's ridiculously good. I'd take it over BCBCS actually. Stunning coffee AND barrel flavor.

Had reservations in picking this up as $15 for one 12 oz seemed stiff but geez, my first "wow" moment of the year I think. Damn this thing was great.

Stellar brew but must be enjoyed with at least three people. I was overwhelmed with 4oz personally.

It's a great beer. Loved the coffee and barrel notes. Glad there is still plenty at my local store.

Malt and vine in Redmond, Wa still has some and we ship. I've stashed a few bottles myself and will be tapping a keg in the next few wks.

Only 1 store in Casper got any. $12.25 per bottle. Me thinks it's worth it.

Do you have an update list of your offerings to ship somewhere? The site isn't exactly easy to use

Funny that folks are wringing their hands over $8-10/bottle prices for BCBS stuff, but $15/bottle for Tweak ain't no thang. This isn't a dig at Tweak, rather a nod to the fact that, despite said wringing, people will pay way more for beer than they say they will.

Good point. Some of them will, some of us won't. I've seen this and passed at $14 per (have also passed on their Uncle Jacob's Stout offered at a similar price). Having just dropped $78 on three fourpacks of 2012 and 2014 BCBS and BCBBW I was slightly reluctant to lay out twice the per bottle price of BCBS for one serving of something described as similar to BCBS. I suppose if you can't find BCBS or have run out already and need a barrel-aged coffee stout fix, finding Tweak available would be tempting. I'm not criticizing Avery, either. No doubt they made less Tweak than GI made BCBS so it likely cost them more to make. And I'm a big Avery fan, love all their emperors, czars, maharajas and such. But for some of us budget-conscious consumers, it still comes down to this: is Tweak twice as good as BCBS?

That said, knowing myself as well as I do, I'll probably end up springing for Tweak etc. just to try them once. And since Tweak is about 4% higher ABV than BCBS, it will be interesting to see if I can handle it.

The BA descriptiopn reads: Formerly known as Meph Addict and Coffeestopholes.
Tweak is Avery Mephistopheles Imperial Stout, with a chunk of coffee thrown in. If you haven’t geeked out enough, the brewery aged in four months in bourbon barrels.

Absolutely amazing. I had my first tonight, and I have a couple more to age. I found it for $13.99, which isn't ridiculous for an 18% beer. Highly recommended.
