Avery Uncle Jacobs Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout)

UJS is damn tasty, but I actual think Black Eye is a tad better, although I am sure I'm in the minority there.

 

Great beer.

Not better than BCBS, IMO. I definitely found it to be a good deal sweater.

 

I believe it will be released again in February.

Tweak and Black Eye are hanging out right now, and I would highly recommend giving both a try if you are at all interested in Uncle Jacob's.

 

I'm a huge homer (living in Boulder and all...), but UJ is my favorite BBA stout. Avery has been upping production every year, so the next release should be pretty sizable and very available (to most places).

Fantastic with a year of age on it as well. The 2013 is unreal right now.

 

In case anyone was still interested, I just spoke to Avery and they're releasing it the weekend of February 21st. Right after they move to new location.

That's exactly how I would describe it. Tweak though is not even close to BCBCS.

 

Stupid question. Is Tweak, mephistopheles stout barrel aged with coffee, and is Uncle Jacobs, mephistopheles barrel aged without coffee? Or different base beers all together.

 

Not stupid at all. Tweak is Meph with coffee and BA, it was previously called Meph Addict but they had to change the name. UJS is a different base beer all together to the best of my knowledge.
