not sure ive ever had a stout aged for only 3 months in a barrel, wonder how much barrel notes you can pull in a short time, still will buy one!

I'd venture a guess to say you've had a lot more examples of short term BA stouts than you'd think. Long-term aging may be the general preference but newer barrel programs/smaller breweries just don't have the resources to make that a reality and a LOT of BA stouts out there end up being quick turn around.

Isn't Big Bad Baptist aged for ~3 months in barrels?

I'm hoping it's delicious enough to put a dent in the craziness of most Vanilla stouts released in small quantities that make people lose their minds.

So according to BSJ this will be a year round offering? This could become a regular purchase for me if the price is right (aka not Uncle Jakobs ppo)

It'll probably be similar to Raspberry sour, price point between $11.99 to $14.99. It'll be in the bigger bottles as well so comparing to Uncle Jacob doesn't need to happen. Also the abv is way different

I just got a couple bottles of the raspberry sour in gb, woodmans and ridgeview had it in stock as of last week at least. Seek it out! It's here! Also, quite good. That said, i'm super jazzed we're getting this, tallgrass vb buffalo sweat got me started down this path and i know vb stouts can only go up from there, can't wait to try this!

Yeah, though Ohio's ABV cap does prevent us getting Avery's bigger stouts, we get one of the better distro footprints in the nation, so I can't complain there (though New Jersey has some amazing distro). Looks like we'll be seeing this on shelves and I for one can't fucking wait. Hoping this is as good as something like Mikeller Vanilla Shake (haven't had it, so someone will have to do a comparison for us all). I'm sure I will think it's incredible regardless.

Dropped at Redstone (Stoneham and Andover). Have gluttony of beer currently including an Eclipse FiftyFifty Vanilla. See what happens this weekend...LOVE LOVE Vanilla however, so will definitely try, but probably not run down the street like my pants are on fire when it releases.
