Avery is finally old enough to drink some Tweak. Tickets are now on sale here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/avery-brewings-21st-anniversary-party-tickets-11936144329 Event details: Our alley has served us well for 21 years. We've gone from making 800 barrels of beer a year to 50,000, from 3 annual beer styles to 22 and counting, from 3 employees to 93 and counting, and from a 6-car-garage brewhouse to a series of 6-car-garages. We will love our alley forever, but we need to keep following our dreams! For our last anniversary party in our original location, Adam Avery is digging deep into his cellar and is pulling out rare and vintage beers to share with you! Many thanks to you for assisting us in realizing our dream, The Avery Brewing Crew
Doh...will still probably be out of town for this one. Everyone be sure to drink an extra Tweak for me.
I'm from Iowa and will be in the Denver area during this. What are the anniversary parties like? Do they include much of their barrel aged options? I read something about purchasing additional drink tickets? Do they limit the amount that you can have? Can I bring in outside bottles if I work out some trades ahead of time?
For those who have been to these before, the 6 beers that come with your ticket are those taster or full pours? Or somewhere in between depending on what you order?
From the Eventbrite FAQ: What do I get with my six drink tickets? One ticket is good for a 12oz pour of beers <8% ABV, an 8oz pour of beers >8% ABV, and a 4oz pour of barrel-aged beers. Also, additional drink tickets will be available, but no mention of price. The beer list looks incredible. Glad that I'm bringing my wife so we can split pours and double up on the things I'll get to try.
Will the Boulder Ironman Triathlon have any impact on this event? It looks like the course is to the west of Avery.
It is unavoidable. The pretentiousness of the Ironman participants will infect anyone within a mile of all the 140.6 stickers, Mdot tattoos, and $10,000 carbon wheels. However, with enough beer, this can be cured. Drink early and often, for most effective results.
Given that they have almost no parking there (and I have a suspicion that the party will spread out into the parking that they do have), what are people planning on? Is there parking nearby at other places that anybody know about, or will I have to show up super early in hopes of having a place to park?
I've never not gotten parking, though sometimes you have to park farther away from the tap room. You should be fine.
That was a party. I think I used my tickets wisely on Rumpkin, Uncle Jacobs, 06 and 07 Meph, Lilikoi, Summers Day IPA, Eremita 2 and 3 and something else... great beers, great weather, great friends. Can't stop the winning.
Agree, this was one of the most well organized events I've been to. Non-existent lines for beer (except for rare tappings, which moved incredibly fast) and bathrooms, water stations were checked regularly. Standouts for me were Erimita 5, 1, 2 (in that order). The '03 Meph (I think) was killer. Opuntia was awesome, and Uncle Jacobs, and the Amarillo dry-hopped IPA was stellar. Thanks to @AveryBrewingCo for a killer time!
