As someone who has only been trading for a few months (and with great success i might add), I know how difficult it is to trust fellow BAs when it comes to completing your first trade. For people who want great things out of Vermont and the Northeast (HT, HF, Lawsons), MEW is a great newbie trader. As is custom (or so it seems), MEW agreed to ship first. The trade involved me shipping out 3 bottles of Hoppin' Frog BA Frogs Hollow in exchange for beers MEW would be getting at Farmer's Markets for Lawsons and HF. Upon arrival of the shipment today, I was stunned by several things. First, MEWs packing ability is crafty and quite amazing compared to what Ive seen. The box was stuffed with pillow cotton-like stuffing, some balled up bubble wrap sheets and small air-filled packing bags. In the center of all that was one of those zipped plastic bags that linens and pillows are purchased in. Inside that were the bottles, all standing upright and wrapped with more bubble wrap and secured with rubber bands. The agreed upon brews consisted of 3 bottles of HF Everett, 2 Lawson's IPAs and a surprise bonus that I knew about but left a surprise. Low and behold, the last TWO items I unwrapped were 2 can of Heady Topper, a beer I have been longing for and have never witnessed in person. Suffice it to say, MEW and I will be trading again in the future!!!! Awesome Awesome job by a first time trader!!! CHEERS Andrew
MEW is awesome! Use to get beers with her when she lived in CO and have already been the lucky recipient of two boxes of VT goodies, and I have a third on the way! She does pack those boxes like a pro! Glad to see her first trade on the forum turn out well. Cheers!
Wow. Andrew, I'm really flattered. I'm pretty new to the BA community, but I've seen a lot of great things happening in the forums and in person. It seems like being friendly, welcoming, and wanting to share the beer love are standard sentiments expressed here and I'm just happy to trade beer in such a supportive setting. Definitely looking forward to future trades! :-) Use the polyester fiberfill (only $4 at Wal-Mart and I've packed 5 boxes with it!!) wisely! tacosandbeer gets all the credit for exposing me to great beer to begin with, getting me on this site, and encouraging me to trade!! Thanks! Cheers!
