AZ - Real Wild & Woody

    Anyone know when Real Wild & Woody is happening this year? I'm looking forward to it...last year was awesome!

    The AZ Craft Brewer's Guild has been teasing an upcoming announcement for a couple weeks now....should hear something soon. Agreed that last year's was a lot of fun.

    Heard it was around the same time as last time. The hold up is they were looking for a different venue, in other words more space.

    I actually like the Tempe Arts Center, but more space would be cool. Hopefully limited to roughly same number of people though

    Rob was just waiting on the contracts the other day. Once everything is signed and finalized he'll be making an announcement. Just be patient folks because it is looking like it might be better than last year(if that is possible).

    If you didn't go last year, I suggest you make it a priority to go this year. Agree that last year's venue at TCFA was cool and intimate feeling but once things got really got chuggin' along, it was certainly tight in some places. REALLY looking forward to this!

    Rob Fulmer posted a picture yesterday saying it was going to be at the Phoenix Convention Center but I still haven't seen a date.

    Tickets went on sale this a.m. There's a link to the ticket site at http://realwildandwoody.com/

    The extra ticketing fees are ridiculous, as is often the case; supposedly you can save some of this by buying from the PHX Convention Center directly.

    For those who made it yesterday - what did you think? I had some really good beers (and a couple really bad ones). Wasn't loving the venue though. The extra space to move around was good but it felt sort of like a trade show

    I thought the fest was really good. It didn't take long to get in, unlike last year. The lines were good except for some certain beers and there was plenty of room and some incredible beers. My only complaint would be that it could last longer and that they need to use their own ticket agency and not the convention centers mandated one. As to the trade show comment I guess you have never been to the Great American Beer Festival.
