I thought it was a fun time. I understand the "trade show" comment as the space is a bit sterile (I've never been to the GABF either), but I thought the layout was decent (although it did get tight in the area between the wall and the middle booths). And I'll trade atmosphere for an air-conditioned wait to get in; that was *so* much nicer than last year. The thing I like about RWW and the Strong Beer Fest is that even with 1000+ people (actually, over twice that for Strong Beer, I think), the d-bag quotient is surprisingly low....always such a cool, friendly crowd.

We had to wait outside in the heat 20-30 minutes before we could enter the festival. The line was around the block. I was told all waiting to get inside would be inside. What a load of BS!!!!!!!

That sucks...must have been a bottleneck at the ID checkpoint? We were fairly early so there wasn't a line at that point. I will say that the upfront processes (ID checks, ticket/entry) for the Guild events still need some work....every year at the Strong Beer festival it seems like a clusterf*** at the entry with volunteers that have no idea what they are supposed to do (and seemingly little control in terms of adequately checking tickets, VIP status etc.).
