Hi, I just brewed my first American IPA 5 gallon batch. I used B-Bright as a sanitizer and mixed it with warm water to fill my airlock to the line. I noticed that half of my airlock filled with this solution got into my beer. I'm worried that it won't taste well, or more importantly it won't be safe to drink. I may have used too much B-Bright in the first place. does the fermentation process kill off any harmful chemicals or is my batch ruined? Thanks!
The volume introduced probably was too little to have an effect. That said, I am not familiar with that sanitizer. Read the label and see if it tells you to contact poison control or something like that. And get Starsan for the future.
Agreed. Read the label on the B Bright. I'd definitely taste it anyway. Maybe just one pint on christening night and see how you feel. Definitely carry on with this.
B-Bright is more of a cleaner, not really a sanitizer but is sometimes billed as both. Do some google searching and you'll see people's recommendations on other forums. Basically, it's okay as a cleaner but should not be used to sanitize.
