I've lucked into some reservation tickets for this year's BA Abraxas release (via my extraordinary girlfriend and a couple of her friends) and have some big wants in King Henry and Rare. I know there is probably pretty big discrepancy in what people think this year's release is going to go for (I've heard there are quite a few more bottles this year than last). I also know that it's difficult to judge these things pre-release. I'm just looking for some honest opinions on value with respect to the aforementioned BCBS variants. Not at all trying to start a heated debate/flame-fest, although you can let me know if I'm a complete nutcase. For what my measly opinion (and small amount of "research") is worth...I think 1:1 or 1+:1 (either way) probably isn't that far off???????? Thanks for your input!
Is this post: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/barrel-aged-abraxas-release-2014.150553/ The one you read? Because then yeah....I heard that too. I do however appreciate your vote.
Sorry gents, thought I posted in the "help" forum. I'll be sure to be more careful next time. Maybe someone can move the thread for me?
i think you are a nutcase, but thats because there is no way id trade a BA Abraxas for either Rare or KH or both for that matter.
Good show with the public admission of using the gf and her friends as mules! Seriously though, I wouldn't trade a BA Abraxas for KH or Rare. I know of a guy who is doing 1:1 with Proprietor's......
Thought that might come up, everyone who showed up got a ticket so I don't feel all that guilty about it. Thanks for the input!
Rare is way past its prime… king henry is holding up better but still past its prime in my opinion. On top of that WAY less BA abraxas was made than rare or king henry. The trade forums are going to explode next week for this beer… just wait.
Just opened a KH but definitely don't make this trade haha Just wait and go after some of the new whalez like DB Huna or Remy's Pappy or whatever you want!
