Ok so heres the deal. I have 2 BA Abraxas that i got this year. I am obviously gonna drink one. The other i think I am going to trade to hope to get some cool stuff(I trade on a FB group usually). I want to get a few variants of the same beer or beers in the same series( Farm to Table series, 50/50 Eclipse variants, Bu, etc) to do a tasting with for my BAA, I also have some 2012 BCBS and other ammo to add. So what does it realistically take to get a few of these? Also what are some other good Sour/Stout series that would be acquirable and good to do a tasting like that of? Thanks for the help.
Dude...for BA Abraxas, it is almost name your price right now. That beer done blowed up. I'd start with a big list of wants, double it, then ask for that list plus. And your inbox will explode. Or, be a dude about it, figure out what you want, don't go crazy trying to extract every bit out of every oz, and earn yourself some beer karma. FWIW, from your parenthetical targets, you'll get any of that you want.
First off........Go Gamecocks.......second thanks for the advice.....im not tryina rip anyone off or anything i just figured this was the best place to ask stupid questions.
Just put a list of everything you want and say a combo. Some people will low ball and some people will be fair. Go with the fair offer. Once you commit and someone comes with a better offer, do not go with the better offer.
Bottles like BA Abraxas, DB Huna, Assassin, BA Mexican Cakes, etc. are tough b/c they really command whatever you want. People will think you're price gouging at times, and others will jump in and say don't devalue my bottle of BA Abraxas for Almanac FtoT brews. To a large extent, just trade it for what you want, but I'd recommend doing so with the knowledge of what it "could" command. That way, if you want hte Almanac or Eclipse bottles, you get them, but you don't come back later and realize you could have pulled a Remy's Pappy or a Cantillon box. And agree, go Gamecocks!
This this this. If you agree to a trade, you've AGREED to a trade. No harm in educating yourself beforehand, but your reputation is in the crapper if you educate yourself afterwards and back out.
Exactly why I wanted to come ask some people what they think just to get a second opinion. Dont worry I follow through on my trades.
I'm trading mine 1:1 with chez monus. Honestly, with the full trade he's added on his end $4$ wise. Both parties are happy.
