BA Blackout Stout...?

Brewery only, I believe. We do get a limited amount of the regular Blackout, though.

 

Correct. It's only been in the last two months that the first two kegs of BA Blackout have shown up in the Twin Cities. So there's hope to try it on tap, at least.

 

You mean this year? BA Black Out was on tap somewhere during Minnesota Beer Week in May 2014, right?

 

Nomad tapped one on 9/24/14 and Buster's tapped a 2013 keg last month.

 

Bryant Lake Bowl had a keg of BA Blackout for their Stout Bout a few years back (the last good one, IMO).

 

Right you are. I thought Nomad taped BA Blackout during 10000 Minutes of Craft Beer, but looks like it was during ABR week instead and I was just mis-remembering.

 

The last good Stout Bout featured BA Batch 9000 & there was certainly no BA Blackout there that evening. Although it was all a little fuzzy after that second glass of 9000...

Edit: just looked back & there was regular Blackout on at the 2012 Stout Bout. The regular version is still excellent & we don't see nearly enough of it, on tap or in bottles, around here.

 

You're probably right on that one.
I could've sworn it was BA, but my memory is failing with age.

 

For the record, Buster's tapped a regular Blackout Stout yesterday and its still on.

 

Bar Louie in Uptown taps a regular Blackout Stout on 2/26 @ 7 pm.

 

If you want to know the skinny on BA Blackout...@Maximum12 IS the authority. Last two time I saw it on tap he was giddy as a schoolgirl. He will always sniff that one out

 

Uptown Tavern was supposed to have a keg at darkest day of the year event, but it 'didn't get here on time', so they tapped regular blackout. If what they said was true, then they probably have that keg of BA Blackout stashed away somewhere.
