sorry if I missed any discussion on this, as someone just gave me a couple bottles, but the bottle I just opened definitely has the beginnings of "off flavors" and is drinkable, but bad. It's tart and has all the characteristics.

Glad I opened it, as I was going to include one in a BIF.

    Anyone else experience this?

Yes. I had the same experience, as did my buddy.

The one I had way gross. I don't know what exactly "infected" would have tasted like but I dumped mine immediately.

Yikes - hopefully it's just a few isolated cases, but that doesn't sound good. I was actually looking to obtain this in a trade soon, but I'll put the brakes on that.

I've seen from multiple friends that had both bottles that tasted fantastic and ones that tasted absolutely terrible.

If you've had a bad bottle, definitely email/message the Off Color people about it.

Disappointing to hear but I agree that everyone should reach out to Off Color and let them know.

I had one a month or so ago and just chalked it up to the beer sucking arse. I have another and will reassess. I'm admittedly a little trigger happy on claiming something is infected and that didn't cross my mind.

Now I really regret taking a ba dinosmores over Buckley.

I tried it a Fobab a couple years ago and it was good. Nothing earth shattering, but it was very solid.

So, it is a decent beer, but clearly not if it's infected.

This was exactly my reaction as well. I just figured it was a terrible beer that was riding the BA hype train at the time. I just had one bottle so I'm not that worried about it but yeah I wouldn't trade for it given the trend here.

So far I've had 6 or 7 bottles and didn't have any infected issues. I still have 2 left in the cellar but so far none of my lot was bad.

I got two in two different trades. First was amazing and I drain poured the second.

I contacted off color and didn't even get a response. That was probably two months ago. Don't waste your time.

Had one a week or so ago that was absurdly good. Contacting the brewery is the best step

I can't speak for the BA Dino (I drove past Off Color and the line was just silly) but man Buckley is like ten times better than non-BA Dino.

Hmm, opened one of my two with a buddy about six weeks ago and, never having had it prior, just figured it's a terrible beer. It being infected didn't occur to either of us. Will open the other one and report back.

I had a friend open one a month or so ago and it was noticeably off. Cherry flavor in the background and smelled like vinegar. He also opened one 2 months ago that tasted great. There is definitely something up with bottles, but it may only be some of them.

I'm not obsessed with Buckley (I think it's good, not amazing), but Dino S'mores is one of the most overrated Chicago stouts, in my opinion. I was super let-down the couple times I've tried it. No knock on Off Color, who I like; the flavors I was hoping for from the beer just didn't come through for me.

I figured the BA version would be pretty good though, and it sounds like it is, when it's not infected. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it was more a statement about Dino than about Buckley being amazing.

    File under: changing palate

I used to think Dino S'mores was really good, but I had a fresh one a few weeks back & it was incredibly sweet, almost to the point of being (gasp!) cloying. It was tough to finish.

The fact that they call it a Russian Imperial Stout is odd to me, considering it's sweet enough to cause diabetes.

I'm not in love with any of them, but ...Coffee Dino > BA Dino > Dino
