BA Golf 2021

Hey folks,

Putting together this thread to serve as the hub for the season-long PGA Tour BIF we've been running for the past 4 or 5 years now. This BIF is an 18 event, DraftKings-based competition that'll be split into Front 9, Back 9, and season-long standings, with prizes available for each. Final prize break downs TBD pending final list of players involved. For now, the PGA Event schedule for the year will look like this:

  • Mar. 4-7 -- Arnold Palmer Invitational Pres. By Mastercard
  • Mar. 11-14 -- THE PLAYERS Championship
  • Mar. 18-21 -- The Honda Classic
  • Apr. 8-11 -- 2021 Masters Tournament
• Back 9
  • May 6-9 -- Wells Fargo Championship
  • May 20-23 -- PGA Championship
  • Jun. 3-6 -- the Memorial Tournament pres. by Nationwide
  • Jun. 10-13 -- RBC Canadian Open
  • Jun. 17-20 -- U.S. Open
  • Jun. 24-27 -- Travelers Championship
  • Jul. 15-18 -- The Open Championship
  • Aug. 5-8 -- WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational
  • Aug. 19-22 -- THE NORTHERN TRUST

This list should be fairly set in stone through at least the Masters, but if protocols start throwing things out of whack or fields are unexpectedly weak, I may swap things out for something like the AT&T Byron Nelson, Charles Schwab, or one of the Midwest events in July. I'll do my best to provide ample notification if that needs to happen.

All scoring is done via free events in our private league in DK and compiled into a running spreadsheet I'll maintain through the season. The two exceptions are 1) all Majors are scored with a 1.5X multiplier (your score for the week x 1.5) and 2) new for this season (so previous players make note as well!), each event will have three 10-point bonuses up for grabs for the team with:

1. Highest Driving Distance Average
   
2. Best Average GIR %
3. Best Strokes Gained Putting Average

I'll be using the numbers directly from the PGA Tour's Stats page and including them in the Standings spreadsheet that'll be updated after each event. The one caveat here is that I'll only be counting the numbers for players that make it through the weekend. That said, if you can manage to sweep all three categories, you've got a chance to add 30 points to your DK total.

As mentioned before, each of the Front and Back 9 portions of the season will have their own standings and so there'll be up to three chances to snag a box. Each of the Front and Back 9 will have a 72 oz minimum shipping requirement, while the season-long competition has a 100 oz shipping requirement. This should be good, quality beer that's on your target's Wants list, is something limited to your area, or is generally sought after. Send the kind of box you'd be excited to receive
