BA Huna rumor...

True story. We are also able to get any extras that might be left after initial allocations...I snagged an extra Forgotten Island. We also get first dibs on things when they come out, I was able to buy a 110K+OT remotely. They sometimes put kegs on at the brewery just for members or let us know ahead of time of special kegs. Makes me wish I was back home for sure.

They have not announced how they plan on doing extras for the latest 3 releases...and since DB Hunah hasn't "officially" been announced there's no real clue to what/if/how they are going to handle that either. I will say I'm pretty stoked and hopefully can snag an extra.

 

Getting 2 DB Hunas and getting to try it twice would be phenomenal. We will find out I guess. Would be cool if they had extra.

 

Yeah, I'm hoping there will be some extras and that we get a chance for an additional...but my thoughts are we won't know that until end of Q1 or Q2 of next year.

 

I'm curious when this will be available. With 4 of the 5 beers already out (as of this upcoming week), will it be another 6 months or maybe this year?

 

Not that I would mind more El Catador beers, but since 4 of them have been announced that were not Hunah and 1 is guaranteed to be a BA Hunah...the membership will expire ~30 days after the release of the DB Hunah unless I missed something. We might get some dibs on other beers like we did on the 110k+OT in between and until then, but once DB Hunah hits it'll be time to start thinking about re-upping.

 

I don't think they would release the BA (DB) version before Hunahpu day which is March 8th of next year. So far all the BA variants have been released after Hunahpu day to my knowledge. I know my buddy bought his Cali Brandy at the brewery months after.

 

I bet we see it before January 1.

 

Yeah, it's clear now that ba huna is the last release of the club outside of anything special they might do (but it doesn't seem likely there's more coming).

 

I honestly wouldn't mind if El Murcielago became an extra release for Catadors...

 

Technically they aren't club only releases, Catador member get first dibs and a chance to get a second bottle, anything leftover is put up for sale at the pub. I doubt there will be many bottles left of DB Hunahpu when it's released unless CCB makes a ton of it.

Are you guys planning anything special at Hunahpu Day for Catador members? I imagine the day is already hectic as it is, but I figured I'd ask.

 

not really sure, chances are the 2nd edition of the club will be going on by that point, and we haven't even talked about what to do with that yet

 

I hope we see it right before huna day next year. Would be great to drink some next to a fresh huna. But like most barrel beers it will be ready when it is ready!
