    Um, no. There's a reason X-Men #1 from 1963 is rare and X-Men #1 from 1991 isn't.

Looking at your join date, my suggestion is to stop thinking of beers like Sede Vacante and BA Abraxas as whales, and my comment will make more sense.

Seriously, dude, do you realize how fucking sad it is that I can say something like "Don't blindly chase after rarity" and the first response is "PROFESSIONAL TROLL!!!!"? It really says something about 2012 join dates.

Trade for BASS so you know what base beer is. If you likey... Go for the coffee variants.

These coffee crazed beers should only be around for a few more years so holding on to it is another thing to consider.

That's right. I always forget, around these parts, join dates automatically mean that's your "initiation"into craft beer. Silly me. I love the comic book collecting reference by the way.
I could give a fuck about "whales" "that are whales because they were released before the public knew what they were." I would rather drink a coors light instead of a lot of the beers that are on the white whale list that you quoted from.

When can we get a "this one is done. That's for the replies" ?

Well, my apologies for belittling your knowledge, then.

Then why in the fuck would you call me a troll for saying what I did? :astonished: Sounds like we agree.

Oh...I know. I personally like variety and trying new things. I don't buy 4 or 6 packs, much less cases, because I quite frankly never have a desire to repeat a beer. Even growlers come across as a chore to me sometimes unless it's something low ABV and just, awesome. The fact that some of the stuff we'd like to try happens to be difficult to get, I suppose, is an unfortunate coincidence. Trust me...I wish every beer I wanted to try was made by the case numbered in the thousands, distributed to all 50 states, and known by no one.

Hell... If I could drink Cigar Citys Peach Jai Alai every day, I might know what it's like to be one of those people that spent their whole life drinking one beer.

I've been fortunate enough to trade with a very cool individual close to Perennial, and I've had one awesome beer from there after another. If a beer loving man were stuck drinking beer from one source, you're in a damn fine spot.

I don't think it was released in bottles until around the early 2000's.

    1) Find guy with Ferrari

    2) Distract said guy with paper clip. Possibly pitching its many uses involving paper.

    3) Shoot him in the face.

    4) Drive away in your new(ish) 458 spyder. You seem like a topless kind o' guy.

Obviously it will trade for a half bottle of BA Speedway and a half bottle of Kopi Speedway.

I believe it says more about the person than everyone who happened to join in 2012. I have been using BA since 2011 but didn't join until 2012. Am I 2011 or 2012? Does it really matter? Pretty lame when someone applies an assumption to a whole group. Your not the only one who does it. Am I supposed to be considered a bad BA because I have a 2012 join date and there are some dumb postings by 2012 join dates. I have seen plenty of dumb posts by other years.

You're confusing using BA as a resource vs. using BA as a way to trade beers. You can easily do the former without joining the site. However, you must join if you want to effectively "exploit" the trade forums, so to speak.

These days, it almost seems as if new users are joining for the sole purpose of dipping directly into trading which comes off as a little misguided. Just take a look at user ET678. They've been a member for all of 18 days. 131 posts in those 18 days......more than 75% of which have occurred within the trading forums. Hell, his first post was in the trading forum.

Being that 2012 is the most recent full calendar year that we've spanned together as a united planetary body makes for an easy/cheap reference point.

Trust me, 2013-ing is something that we're bound to hear eventually....it's still early in the year.

To build on that, I think some of those accounts are 2nd/3rd accounts.

I get what your saying but it still devalues someone like me who tries to be a part of the whole BA community. Doesn't hurt to say most 2012 join dates or a lot of 2012 join dates. I'm not going to claim that 2013 join dates are bad in a year because some of them were because there will be plenty of great ones. The person can be called out without the date which they joined mattering. I just think it's funny when a kid who joins dec 2011 goes on a thread and says "oh look at this guy 2012ing in here" like that month makes him better. Hell, I have seen 2 posts already today that I am sure someone clicked on the BA name so they could say 2012ing only to find that they had earlier join dates. Oh well though, at the end of the day there are much worse problems to have. This just seems to always irk me for some reason.

I think it all just comes down to how you present yourself. You don't show up to a party where you're meeting everyone for the first time, raid the fridge, start knocking things over and then proceed to piss all over the toilet seat without even wiping it off (too harsh?).

There are certainly quite a few seemingly stand-up BA members that have joined in 2012...it's just that the more questionable ones have crowded up a lot of the forum space otherwise.

Since I too am in St. Louis just meet up with me and we can drink it together. Much better idea than trading it :grinning:
