Your right. That's why I just continue to do what I believe is the right thing and do right by other BA's. I have seen BA's basically say they wont give 2012 a chance that's why I mention this. (abecall seems to be pretty adamant about it. Of course I can't be sure he's not joking but as much as he says on the issue leads me to think he's not.) At the same time like you said as long as I am doing the right thing then not all will lump me in. As I said after that post I probably shouldn't deal with people with that mentality anyways. I can understand how upsetting it would be to have been a part of the craft beer scene for a long time and then see more and more people exploiting it as opposed to actually becoming involved with it. I'm only a couple years in and I just think it's a hell of a lot more fun to dive into the world of craft beer as opposed to profiteering off of it.

 

It's really not going to be good for this site/community if people shit on others specifically for their reg date. Its getting old fast

OP, trading 1 beer you've never tried for another beer you've never tried seems a little asinine. You dont know how either beer tastes, so you're gambling either way. I mean, sure you can look at ratings, and rAvg, but thats just 2012'rs artificially inflating the ranking of a beer to pull down serious walez bro. 2011 and unders may lift/push plates, but we 2012'rs would much rather pull down wales. Save the spearing for your next grindr session, real talk. Sounds kind of like you have a serious case of wanting what you cant have (all of my ex's feel your pain!), what with the addiction to trading. Its cool, you need help and I have the 12 step program you need.

Now if you really wanted to be smart about it, you could throw your BA Kopi up for some combination of BCBS/BB4D/BBPt5/KBS and just wait until you got the sickest >$4$ offer around. Then go to the two next best offers and tell them what you were offered and ask if they could beat it. String along the best offerer while waiting for responses until he also loses interest, throw up a "this is done thanks" and repost again the next day. Eventually you'll totally win that trade, brah.

also, regifting is tacky. retrading is also. drink your damn beer, especially with that guy that lives near you. set up some tastings, make friends, and eventually you'll find a beer you want to trade for because you know it tastes fucking delicious.

Depending on the circumstances, this could be extremely irritating to me. If I happen to post an ISO:FT for a beer, make the deal, and the guy flips it a week later, fine whatever. Kind of silly IMO, but I wouldn't really care. Now on the other hand, let's say you reach out to me noticing for instance I live in Michigan and ask for a Raspberry Eisbock, giving the impression that you REALLY want to try it. I in turn essentially take a couple very good but not great shelf beers in return because it's the best you can do and I simply want to hook you up with something I think you really want to try that I already have. I'm honestly happy to do that and in fact would go as far as to say truly enjoy doing it. But if two days after you get your box, I see you are trying to flip it for a Rare, that's BS in my opinion.
