I was told they are blending and that they should be released soon. Last year they were out in November. They had a bourbon and cabernet barrel version. Not sure about this year.

I would guess mid January. They are just now shipping out the non ba laika

The cabernet version was amazing last year, hope they bring it back!

Yeah I was wondering also. It was mid-November last year. I asked Hop City and they had not seen it available for order yet, which means another month or so I would guess

Was just at Hop City and they were putting the Cabernet, Bourbon, and regular Laika's out.

@WarEagleJeep Does Hop City have a fair amount of each, or are the BA versions pretty limited? My friend will be in Birmingham in a couple of days and I'd love to have him snag some. Also...prices?

They had a many cases of each when I was in there Wednesday so hopefully some will still be around. Piggly Wiggly Clairmont, Highland Package, Neighborhood Hop & Vine, and Whole Foods should all get bottles too. And I think they were under $10 a bottle.

I already opened one of the Cabernet barrel bottles and was really disappointed, loved last years and this has none of that rich chocolate and red wine flavors. Going to sit on the other bottle and see if it improves any over time.

Great Price. Picked some up in Nashville last year for $13 a bottle. I thought the Bourbon Barrel was good but the Cabernet Barrel blew me away. Kind of a bummer it might not live up to last years. Anyone else have a similar experience?

The bar called Leroy in Montgomery had cabernet-BA Laika on draft in mid-November, but I don't know what year it was. Whatever it was, I thought it was fantastic. I hope the bottles are going to be as good.. and that I can get my hands on a few. That Cab-BA Laika was the best wine-barrel-aged beer I've ever had. I would take that over The Abyss any day.

Any sightings in Auburn/Opelika, Montgomery, or Columbus?

Correction, Hop City has the Laika's at $11.50 a bottle and they still have an ample supply of all 3.

The Kold Keg in Auburn got a shipment today. They have the cab and the bourbon. I just picked up three bottles of each (I want to drink one, cellar one, and send one either to friends in Chicago or to a trading partner in California). It was ~$14/bottle.

I just drank a bottle of the cab. It's pretty good, but I'm definitely not blown away like I was when I had it one draft at Leroy.

Any idea when this will make it to Nashville?

Ditto, but for Knoxville. Assuming it'd be pretty much the same time.

Jealous.. it's almost 17-20 for a bottle in the Atlanta market..

Hate that the cab isn't sounding as good as years past. It was much better than the bourbon.

Anyone recently seen either variant in Nashville? I know some of those smaller wine shops keep it on the shelves for a little while.

Where are you buying it? We (Ale Yeah!) priced it at $13.99, with a nice margin. Green's was a $1 less.

I bought some last year on the southside of town. Gremlin Growlers.. I don't go there much anymore because the owner there gouges the shit out of the locals with his prices, but stuff sits there because of the prices, so you can find it if you want to pay for it.

Glenn Gresham. Good guy, and very beer focused. I'm betting due to the lack of competition in his area he has room to mark stuff up more. Inside the perimeter there's too many places fighting for business to overcharge.
