Just a thought: it would be cool to have a guest review to go along with the Bros beer reviews at the end of the mag. Maybe a 'classic' review from a well-known advocate (i.e. Buckeyenation)? This would be a chance to reinforce the work of good, constructive reviewers, as well as showcase beers the Bros haven't gotten their hands on.

Does Buckeyenation even review anymore? His last review was like in 2011.
A guess reviewer could review his or her choice of beers, whatever they want.

I was hoping this was going to be: "make them better."

The new format has turned the reviews into something approaching parody. An incredibly short word count summary that seems to be primarily a reflection on how the Bros are feeling at the time of the review, followed by a string of descriptive words, frequently ridiculous ones, strung together in a way that gives very little sense of the beer at hand. The need to fill in boxes with words probably makes it easier to stomach cranking out these reviews every month, but the unhelpful format means the reviews themselves have little to no value because they read like they're empty and tossed off.

All of which is a shame because I feel there are plenty of examples of the Bros reviews that are relatively concise, tell a story and evoke a sense of the experience of drinking the beer, so they're certainly capable.

While I don't agree with all of your feedback, I do agree that we can definitely make them better. I've added this to our things to discuss during our next team meeting.

As for the OPs idea, we have no plans to add guest reviews.

    Thanks for the comments.
