Never a shortage of non-brewery owners trying to tell brewery owners how to run their business. See: 3 Floyds, Cigar City, etc.

I'm with @Mantooth. If I have notice and can request off of work or if it happens to correspond with one of my days off, I'll make the trek. But, with a silent release in relegated to hoping I get to try one at a share. No big deal to me either way. If I never get to try it, oh well. It's just beer, and as many have said, there's plenty of good/great beer around me to make up for missing out on this one. Most of my posts on here are sarcastic. I don't get too hyped over rare stuff, but wouldn't mind grabbing a bottle of each to share with some buddies.

It'd be a lot easier if the brewery owners would just ask us first. Then we wouldn't be in this mess.

This isn't a mess. You think this is a mess? You must have had a pretty Cush life to think a brewery not releasing a beer on your schedule is anything that could be described as a "mess".

That sounds like an attempt at humor. There's no room for that here. This is a forum for the discussion of beer.

What the hell, Cycle Brewing silently released two barrel-aged stouts on a regular business day and smoothly sold out to their local regular customers? That's outrageous, who do they think they are not giving plenty of details and time for everyone to make plans to get there?!

Yeah well cycle doesn't post on their website the time frame in which they will release said beer. Cycle doesn't let reporters come take pictures of their beer and write articles about it in the newspaper a month before said beer will or will not be released. Cycle doesn't start serving their beers in the tasting room months ahead of time. Cycle doesn't let some people get bottles and drink them ahead of time and let them take pictures to post on their instagram accounts. Cycle doesn't let the hype and anticipation build for months ahead of time then silently release a beer. Some beers are silently released and some beers are announced and you just have to live with it if you miss out. If Westbrook thinks all this hype and drama is worth it to sell a few more IPAs then that is their business decision but they can't honestly think there will be no backlash from the community doing things that way.

There's roughly 15 people posting in this thread and the number that are butthurt is in the single digits. I think it's safe to say the "backlash from the community" is minimal at best and is comprised of just the bitching that goes on in this thread. There's really no drama, just some rabid beernerds foaming at the mouth to get some bottles. To put it in perspective, all that has been said is that there's "x" variants and they haven't set a time to release them. End of story, no drama necessary, sit patiently and wait. Everything else is speculation and merely speaks to the insanity of the "community".

Just my 2cents. I'm really looking forward to these beers and will keep going to the brewery whenever I get a chance, it's no different than my usual routine.

If its in the single digits, the # of butthurt people has to be 9 then.

You're seriously overestimating the hype here. I mean, there's only ten pages in this thread. You'd think there'd be a lot mo... Oh, yeah. I forgot. Never mind.

Someone please delete this thread. Or rather, I'll change the subject... BA Mexi Cake variants ranked from favorite to least favorite... Go!

    1) Coconut Bourbon
    2) Red Wine
    3) Double Barrel '14
    4) Cognac
    5) Apple Brandy
    6) Bourbon '13
    7) Bourbon '15

Cognac and Apple Brandy could potentially be switched.

Have not had Tequila or Bourbon '14, or obviously Pappy which didn't hit the tasting room when the other 2015 variants did a couple weeks back.

I love you, South Carolina. Still, you've got some growing up to do. Westbrook makes some nice stuff... but it's a disjointed affair and not worth the effort.

Plus (@raverjames ), your bridge is pathetic.

    I love this thread.

I am anticipating the epic meltdowns once this beer is released more than the beer itself.

    It should be fun!

They wouldn't release it on Zwanze day, would they?
