This has been mentioned in other threads, but since I saw that this will be getting released in 12oz bottles I figured a separate thread. Definitely going to try to grab a few. I looked for a release date, but couldn't find it- sorry, fam :slight_frown:

I'm not sure how many of you guys have tried this yet, but its phenomenal FYI.

Had it in the taproom on Saturday and could not believe how well the barrel complimented this black IPA. Big, strong, assertive flavors here with a seemingly perfect feel (kind of expected it to be a lot thinner for some reason). I got a lot of a very pleasant, vanilla note (and I typically hate vanilla in beer) balanced by the roasty/hoppy flavors you'd anticipate with regular Mountain Standard.

They told me it was going quick too... so quickly that employees weren't even allowed to drink it. But they were selling crowlers, so who knows!?

    What's everyone else feeling??

I liked it a lot. Tasted more like porter than black ipa to me as I didn't get any hoppiness from it, personally.

Got a single bottle from my local place. Didn't even know it existed. But the clerk is like "would you like some Mountain Standard?" xD

I had to search "Mountain Standard" to figure out that it was an Odell's beer. Unfortunately we don't get them here in PA. I've had them before and thought they were great, but that was 15 years ago - I'm sure they're better now. Maybe a trip to Colorado is in order?

Not great, but also cheaper than Avery BA beers that are also 12 oz.

I'm getting a ton of vanilla and no hops on mine. I agree with the porter comment. Thin with little head out of the bottle. I like it, I like it a lot but there is no way I'm buying another one at $9 a pop.
