Jesus. It was $44 at whip-in, I was hoping Growler Room would be less. Looks like I'm waiting till bottles.

    It is less.

And still significantly cheaper per ounce than bottles. I might break down and fill a 32oz, although in the past I havent been wowed by this one.

Saw a waco place get. Maybe they drove and collected... Not sure.

    Dallas has too.

I was surprised to see it here in Waco too. Toledo's said it was a delivery from I'm not sure who on their way to deliver to Dallas.

I've had this on a draft a lot but this is the first time I've been able to get a bottle. What's the consensus on when this beer is best from the bottle? Fresh or wait?

With their past QC problems I'd drink it fresh.

I've got to be one of the few who think this is just an average BA porter/stout.

Ditto. It's drinking fantastic with a year on it.

Nope. It's never done anything for me either. So I just leave it for others.

Not overly impressed with it fresh, but put down a couple of bottles last year, so will prob just pull them out instead of chasing this one all over creation...

I'm drinking it now out of a growler from Growler Room and I like it a lot. I feel like the base beer shines and the whiskey barrel is really well integrated. Pecan Porter is one of my favorite local beers though, and I love pretty much everything (512) puts out, so YMMV I suppose. Glad I picked up several bottles today as well.

Hated 2012 fresh, but it was very good with a year on it. Really liked 2013 fresh, it was different but still good with some age. I'm probably going to cellar my bottle for a year+ and just get my fix via growler/draft.

Had 2013 fresh and was not a fan... Whiskey seemed way too overpowering. Had another one with about 6 months on it... And it was close, but not there. Had it on draft a few months ago and everything had come together, it was delightful. I'll throw the majority of the 2014's I can find in the cellar... (Plus, I've got to keep that vertical going).
