Anyone know of somewhere in austin that has this on tap, not whip or growler room. Looking for some other bar with it

Thanks. I had been watching the Specs Beer twitter feed for it, but I guess WBADPP was not worthy of a tweet.

 

No, they said they didn't want to post every big release on Twitter, and wanted to reward people who were shopping with them frequently. It makes sense to me.

Well that kind of sucks for those of us who are regulars there but don't live close enough to stop by every day on the off chance they have a secret release. I was even there last weekend and asked a beer guy (not Joey) about WBADPP and he acted like they weren't getting any.

 

I guess it sucks. They don't have an obligation to announce anything at all. You can always call. Not sure how some of you imagined the world operated before the internet, but I swear it worked just fine.

 

This happened to me as well. I called them on Friday last week to ask about WBADPP and the guy who answered the phone said that they're only expecting it in kegs.

 

You are right, they have no obligation to announce anything. But the last time I tried to call about a beer release I was told to watch twitter because they get too many phone calls. That is how the world operates today.

 

Yeah, I understand. And I wasn't directing that at you necessarily because I see it all the time, and I'm often guilty too. Things were easier when I was just happy to have a St. Arnold seasonal available. The internet kind of expanded my knowledge of beer where I didn't get excited unless I had to hunt another overhyped beer down. I'm not trying to rail on the internet either, I just have to keep myself in check sometimes and remember not that long ago I didn't have much of a selection, and no matter what I get or don't get, it's better than what I had 10 years ago.

 

I completely agree. We now have great beers sitting on the shelf here everyday in Texas. WBADPP was my last whale to chase, and that is only because my wife and I love the regular version of 512PP and always have growler or two of it in the fridge. Beer is meant to be drank, not hunted.

 

Wait...so stores now "should" post when they get beer in? Oh OK.

 

How good was WBADPP this year?

 

Also regarding Specs Smith St, I've had a run of misinformation from the beer guys besides Joey lately so I take what they have with a grain of salt. I think some of them need to learn to say "I don't know" instead of answering with wrong info.
