Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I'm heading to the Montreal area for work tomorrow and am wondering if there is BA Peche available retail anywhere in the area? I tried to find release info etc. on this through the forum but didn't find anything useful. Thanks in advance!

You won't be able to find it in stores. Your only chance is via trade, wich should be easy comming from Vermont.

I think next time it is released I am just going to go to the brewery and buy as much of it as possible... then not drink it. Pure trade-bait.

Haha you guys are great. Sadly because I'm leaving so soon I don't have any great VT trade material.

Digging this thread up from July...

How often is BA Peche released? I'm planning on posting ISO in the correct forum, but would want to maximize my chances of getting several bottles fresh - some to cellar, trade, and enjoy now.

Haven't heard anything. Last time was January or February if i recall correctly. They ran out by the time it was my turn :slight_frown:

papat444 - they released some at an event in February last year at the brewery....but that was still the 2013 BA Peche was it not? There was also a set released sometime with BA Peche, BA Solstice and a DDC glass....but that was also 2013 BA Peche. Rumour has it that there is no new bourbon BA Peche on the horizon.....but there may be a non-boubon BA Peche on the way....all merely speculation.

Contact info at the brewery, sure they will tell you. Working with the brewery for six years, there usually is a Christmas special pack, as to what is in it I don't know. Pinot barrel Isseki Nicho is amazing if they substitute, I know they had trouble getting bourbon barrels. You guys might contact Les Trois Mousquetaires, they have a very special and very small release of their baltic porter that was aged in a 40 year old Heaven Hills barrel coming up.

Hoser - I have never heard of 40 year old bourbon.....that would taste like eating an oak branch. Bourbon is rarely aged over 18 years.....low 20's max, because it becomes too woody. I highly doubt there is a 40 year old Barrel of Heaven Hill bourbon lying around.....unless it got lost in a rickhouse for a couple of decades!

papat444 - I was fortunate enough to be in Montreal just after that event and traded for a few bottles of BA Peche and about 30 other BA DDC. I think we even did a trade for some BA DDC. The best was in 2014 when Keep 6 imports sold me an entire 2-4 of BA Peche Mortel. I didn't realize at the time how rare this was going to become!

That is exactly what it was, a total accident they even got the barrel.

Interesting. I've always assumed there were some shennigans with respect to all these barrels. It seems as if every start-up brewery that can't even afford to buy labels for their bottles seems to have an endless supply of big name bourbon barrels at their disposal. i assumed that either there really were an abundance of barrels, or else, someone is playing funny...

This said, stranger things have happened, but I am sceptical. I wouldn't blame the brewery if they got told they are 40-yr old barrels for turning that info around.

Buffalo Trace has stopped the sale of Pappy barrels over such controversy. I am not home but you can probably google the story since it's rather recent.

Guys, I was at the Shelton's Brothers festival in Florida, the guys from LTM were very excited about this single barrel brewery only release. Tom the barrel guy that sold it and gave them the history of the barrel. If you guys go back and forth about who knows more about barrels I am okay with that to.

Don't know where you getting your information from on this as barrels are getting very expensive and hard to find.
