No, you were saying that they need to listen to YOU. The opinions of beer geeks and know-it-alls is not the same thing as listening to the trends in the markets from brewer's perspectives. "Writing on the wall" is definitely not "hey, lets listen to the whiners about limits".

I don't need to figure anything out. I've been to plenty of releases. I know that each one will be different and that some will be crazier than even I anticipate. One thing I definitely don't need to figure out is how to be ungrateful and entitled. You guys have all that covered for me.

F, people like you ruin the fun of a release for brewers. Yes, they want to have fun too. "NO! No fun! This is serious business! I have to get my pre-trades covered! Plus, its the brewers job to fetch me my beer in whatever quantity I see fit and in a timely fashion!" (that is me imitating you and people of your ilk, btw)

 

If they were going to lower the limit to 12 they should look to open up at 11am. Otherwise they'll be there really late distributing beer.

One thing for sure is the lack of appreciation for all those working for DDC during the release.

I don't know about horrible treatment since I didn't go (cause I figured it would be like this). But I have yet to have a good customer service experience visiting DDC (to be fair, only in Montreal). I have always told myself that they are just a little bit too popular for their size, staffing, layout, etc. Who knows....

That's why I just buy their beer from stores with great service and drink it at home alone. That said, I would have loved to have gotten my hands on the BB Péché. It's good stuff.

 

Nope. No entitlement at all. They just want their 48 beers (that they most likely will not drink) and a 4 hour wait in line.

I had an excellent time at DDC on Av Laurier but it was in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday and there were only, like, three other people in the place. The Péché I had on draft there is something that still makes me wake up in the middle of the night with drool on my pillow and an uncomfortable erection.

I just decided this morning that I won't be going to Péché Day down here - now they're selling overpriced tickets for the privilege of a guaranteed seat for an hour and 6 4oz. pours. Screw that.

 

Where did you see the details for Peche Day at the MTL brewpub?

I kind of swore after last year that I wouldn't go back, but I might. We'll see. At least it is not a ticket system, I guess. I could see that being annoying/expensive.

It's a lot of people in a small place in a short amount of time and I got the impression last year that they weren't prepared for the crush of people. I worked in food service and am beyond sympathetic to waiters, but it was hands down the worst service I have ever had anywhere in the world. I was livid by the time our beers came. After that everything didn't seem as bad though...

 

Hey, does anyone know if Symbiose 2015 (available at the release) is the same as Symbiose #6? I don't see an independent listing for the '2015' version and the comments show that this variant was the only to be available in bottles.

 

I bought a couple bottles of symbiose 2015 at the release, but in the pub at DDC the menu stated symbiose #6 now I'm curious also or maybe I was to far gone by the point to clearly remember.

 

Symbiose #6, confirmed it at the release. You'll see a note on the BA listing of Symbiose #6 stating it's the only bottled version.

Can we get a consensus from the DDC crowd? Some people want a ticketed system, some don't.
Or is it preferred that a ticketed system be for bottle releases only, and the events at the brewpub be first come first served?
