Anyone going to DH for the release? Bringing a bottle share?

I plan on going but it will be the day after the KBS release / bottle share. I highly doubt I'll be drinking much that day.

I hope to stop by Dark Horse on Saturday. I'm passing on the KBS release at Founders this year. DH should have plenty of BA Scotty Karate to last through the day so I will enjoy one on tap before I figure out how many bottles I want to purchase.

Not sure where you're having the bottle share at, but Dark Horse has not allowed drinking or sharing beers while waiting in their parking lot for bottle releases. You could probably message them on social media to confirm it.

Does anyone know what time the general store closes? If I get out of work on time I can be there by 830-900 if they don't sell out.

150-200 in line. I'd imagine it will linger into the evening and maybe through the weekend. Someone in line said a little less than 600 cases.

Stopped at Dark Horse on the way home from Founder's on Saturday to try this. Was it just me, or was this quite a letdown? Not trying to be a jerk, I love Dark Horse.

I loved it! I thought that it was well balanced.

The barrel seemed more mild then I would have like but I will say I enjoyed it much more than regular Scotty.

I think all their barreled versions must spend 5 hours tops in a barrel. I have yet to taste any barrel character in any of their "barrel aged" beers. I want to love Dark Hourse but they just don't have the quality.

BBPT5 is stellar and a world class BA stout....no question at all, on the other stuff though I agree is light on the BA but still tasty. Had a BA Tres Blueberry last night and was very tasty even though the barrel was not very prominent

Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th definitely has barrel flavor in the stout. It's excellent. While some of the recent releases, BA Tres Blueberry and Maple Bourbon Black Bier, were lacking in barrel character, 3 Pairs & 6 Pairs of Legs, as well as the 666 Sasparilla Stout were all very good barrel aged beers. I have two 4-packs of BA Scotty headed my way this afternoon, hope that they did this one right for its 10th anniversary.
