Haven't been to the Friday evening share, so can't comment on that. The Friday overnight share is pretty laid back, people just sitting in groups sharing with each other. For the morning share the first couple hundred people are let in (and it doesn't feel particularly packed still). I was there last year around 3:30am or so and had no problem being in the first group in the building. At that point the line had snaked down the parking lot towards the road behind the building, turned around and was about halfway back up to the main road.

    This is true.

As do I. I like shares that you open your own bottle, share with those who you want to. The remaining you put on the table and it is fair game.

Do not know what time, But yes that is how it works. I would suggest at night sometime. Not exactly sure the time.

The morning share is great, not gonna lie, really the only reason I ever went to the release to be quite honest. And if you're crazy, line up around 2am (or earlier as the case in 2013), get your place in line and drink good beer with good people until sunrise, which is when the officers ask that you put it away. I have heard a lot of negativity in regards to the Friday night share as stated above, plenty of freeloaders and no control over your bottles. But hell, there are freeloaders during the morning share as well, offering warm, old IPAs so they can try your nicer bottles, but I wouldn't know anything about that...

Anyways enjoy the share(s), release and drink some good beer for me!

For regual sexual chocolate this year the Friday night share was in the back of the pub. I met up with some friends and we started to open bottles to share one at a time. After pouring for my friends and those in our group or other groups. There was a table that you could put a bottle on to share with the public if you wanted. We had some nice bottles, however the better ones came out in the morning.

I've never seen an just pull what you want share on Fri, most shares are in smaller groups that know each other. Guys walk up and down Offering pours though. Sat is for the big boys , by that time I'm tired anyway so I'm just waiting to get bottles. I might drive up tomorrow morning I might not, haven't deceided yet. My days of sitting on sidewalks are kinda over.

I'll ask the obvious and likely annoying question I suppose:

If you don't sleep on the sidewalk, is there a chance of you getting this beer? Doors open around 9am I heard, so if someone were to show up around 6am to get in line would you be out of luck? It's a 6 hour drive each way for me from the DC area, and some of us are debating on heading out for it, but as we have responsibilities and heard about the event just a few days ago our options for arrival are limited. Participating in the share would be amazing too, as I just got some great trades in. Thanks for any input!

Last year there was more beer than allocated for people in line. You could have come at 9:00 and still gotten BASC. I don't remember when they sold out. Batch sizes have varied by year and it has sold out at different times. This year they uped the allocation slightly so I would suspect they have a good sized batch.

Last year, they didn't sell out until Monday. In fact, I went back Monday at lunchtime and picked up a case.

Really? That is impressive! Unfortunately it is looking more and more as though I will be unable to make it down for this, but it sounds like a great time.

If you're the first persons in line who do not have anything nice enough to contribute to the bottle share in the morning can you still just hang out in the pub until bottle selling begins?
