I've tried to land this with a few trade offers but am only getting crickets. I am not sure if I am undervaluing the beer or I've yet to find the right set of eyes. I also haven't had any threadshitting on my post which leads me to believe I am "somewhat" close.

Which tier does this trade within?
    Vanilla Rye
    BAVSS
    Caffe Am
    GM
    MW

or is it a notch lower in the
    Huna
    Abraxas
    Omega Point
    Speedway Variants
    MOAS
    Cascade The Vine
    etc.

My last offer was Wicked Weed Dark Arts + Omega (or comparable beer).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm just looking for a fair trade.

    Thanks

Been trying off and on to get one myself. 1000 bottles sold through Eventbrite out of Lift Bridge in January, 2 per person. I don't recall the price offhand but it was less than $20 per. Truly one of the finest barrel aged stouts out there, super smooth. Personally I'd take it over any BC variant anytime.

From your list any of the top 5 should get it 1:1, with hopefully a plus if it involves BAVSS or Bruery due to the $ difference. Vanilla Rye would be a good bet since I heard the Twin Cities didn't see much of the BC variants this year.

Wish I could help but I've only got the unbarreled version right now, and that was pretty limited too. Hope this can help you land one, it's definetly a treat to drink!

    Cheers

BA Silhouette is one of 'those' beers.

It's so good that people don't want to part with it unless they pick up beers that are just as tasty, but it doesn't have the 'rep' to pull similarly great-tasting brews. For this reason, I don't think a lot of them get traded unless (in my case) they're going to good trading partners.

I'd say Cafe Americana & BAVSS would be overkill, VR would be about right, & the two Bruery beers probably wouldn't do it, since they can be had fairly easily. From the bottom list, Huna + might do it, but the rest would have to catch exactly the right set of eyes.

Good luck. It's a fine beer, but even as a homer, I'm I wouldn't give up the CA or BAVSS for one!

While limited, it is still pretty easy to get. If you need places to look next time you are here or want me to snag some for you, let me know.

I have to agree. This is my favorite beer and I am not sure what I would even trade it for, probably something that would get me laughed off the trading forum.

For personal reasons, I really hope this beer stays under the radar. But I don't think that will be the case, 2 years ago the eventbrite tickets took weeks to sell out, last year it only took 30 mins.

I think you have a shot at getting it with those beers, just need to find the right set of eyes or maybe a bigger trade involving more beer on both sides. I also think your best chance to get it is right after it is released. I do personally know of people that landed it, so it is possible.

@nograz, appreciate the offer but I'm set for right now. I ordered a couple more from France44 the other day along with Schell's Stag #9 that I forgot to grab while there.

    Nice, great store.

If you are just looking for a taste of BA Silhouette, shoot me a message before you come to the Twin Cities next time. I will crack a bottle.

It really is one of the few great BA beers that doesn't have nearly the demand it should. Probably because MNers don't look to trade it since the value isn't what it should be and would get lesser beer that isn't worth it.

I got one from a great regular partner and it stole the show at a share, FWIW.

Exactly this. I've only parted with one (maybe 2?) of mine to regular trading partners when we don't care about "value" and just trade good beers back and forth.

    The original poster?

There is a Vanilla Rye for BA Silhouette x2 in the Midwest IP forum, I just don't see that getting done, but you never know.

You're right, the offer is from me...I am finalizing the trade for VR now. I am open to another for the Melange 3 (or others) if anyone is interested.

    Thanks

I believe the bottle count was 600 for BA Silhouette in 2015. 500 for the presale and another 100 at the door for first come fist served if you didn't already reserve bottles online.

I drank from bottle "1035" or some where in that range this past Saturday. So I want to say there were more than 600 bottles. But maybe I was drinking a 2014 instead? Regardless, it was a standout, and held it's own against BAVSS and Churchills Finest Hour 2015 in the tasting. I don't blame MN traders one bit for hanging onto this gem.

It is on some where on the Midwest forum, I think it was 1000 presale and 200 the day of the event.

Previous year I believe was a little less. I hope there is some more next release.

Found it in the Midwest forum. It was 500 for the presale and 200 more the day of the release.

I believe there were another 500 presale that you could only get ay the brewery.

yeah they announced an additional 200 bottles only for people who did not have a pre sale 1 per person to be sold with ticket later in the day , this beer is a crown jewel in MN , and if more folks had access to it , it would be also
