    Hey, guys. I'm rather new to trading, and I'm looking for advice on a few things I have. I'm interested in trading a 2013 BA Speedway, but I'm honestly not sure what the demand is for such a thing these days. Is it a beer I could get $50 worth of trade value out of? I'm not fishing for mermaids with it, and would probably be interested in just a range of solid upper middle-class beers from out of market. Thanks in advance.

    BASS cost was $30. You should be able to get $30 of limited brewery-only release beer....

    All I know is that I was surprised seeing BA Speedway show up recently in Washington, first time I've seen it up here. Think it was $35 around here though.

    Thanks for the reply, man. I paid nearly $40 retail for it, so that's the minimal hope. Does it still hold a good trade portfolio?

    Same here. Mine was closer to $40 as well.

    BA Speedway is one of those magnificent beasts whose trade 'value' has dropped, because there's a perception that it's become more 'common'. And indeed, the batches being made now are much larger than the early batches. The 2003 batch was only 196 bottles - now BA Speedway seems to come out of a fire hose at Alesmith someplace.

    Which doesn't make it any less delicious, but from my side of the table (in MN) it's much easier to come by nowadays! But on your side, Kramer was right. $30 in limited (but not super limited) beers.

    I thought all the BA Alesmith beers were brewery only releases. As some others have said, I guess the leftovers make it to retail. I bought a 2012 BA Wee Heavy in Seattle sometime last year. And just last week I saw a BA Speedway on the shelf ($37) sitting next to a handful of BA Old Numbskulls.

    I've been trying like hell lately to trade a BA Speedway for 2 Mexican Cakes and it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I guess Cake pulls more than I thought. That or BA Speedway pulls less, dunno.

    Alesmith has been distributing BA Speedway and BA Old Numbskull to Wisconsin for 2 years now but at 43 dollars with tax I passed. There are to many other good beers out there for me to pay that price.

    I hear ya. I didn't pay quite that much for it, but I'm not even looking for $4$ really, I'd go BASS + for Mexican Cake x2 at this point. It's one of my favorite beers and I just figured the BASS would be a better thing to trade for it than the stuff I normally deal, since a lot of SC folks come through NC relatively often.

    How about BASS for Chocolate Rain or Grey Monday 1:1?

    I know that they're both California beers, but it seems like a lot of folks outside of California have them.

    BASS for Huna, 1:1 seems like a fair trade you might be able to land. Non-BA Huna was around $20 a bottle, plus ticket $ and inconvenience... :wink: I've been able to trade it $4$ @ $40 a bottle, which is what it cost here in WI.

    @dsigmon
    Thanks guys! Literally as I saw the alert as I paying for some I found over on the eastside. That being said, we should definitely do a bottle share + BBQ Ryan. I'll BM you to see if sometime in the next couple of weeks works out....
    Cheers!
