I don't even know who James Lee Burke is. But based on the name, he's either from the South, or a serial killer, or both.

I'm from the Midwest and I lean toward Midwest beers. I feel we got the coasts beat.... Just saying. Also I'm young and I look for the big bold intense flavors more than any thing else. I guess I'm spoiled do to 3 Floyd's, two brothers, bells, pipeworks etc. being so close to me!

Well, I'm brand new here (although I've been lurking for months and months), and I guess I fit the stereotype of the typical BA in terms of looks pretty well. Probably a little younger than most on here, though (I turned 22 a little over a week ago).

I'm from the South, so, yeah, I'm pretty happy whenever I can get my hands on anything really good (although a lot of breweries are popping up in the Nashville area; I believe two opened just last year, and I know there's one opening next month). I like pretty much every style, although I find that I'm drinking a lot of IPAs in this weather. I'm really partial to Belgian stuff in general (particularly Trappist/abbey stuff and saisons). Sours are really nice, based on what little I've had, but they can get so expensive that I don't really buy them often, and as a result I haven't had nearly as many as I'd like to try. Although I'm going to a sour fest on Sunday.

    Midwestern's are homers.
We love what came from where we live, no matter if we can get it or if 30+ states can.

They'll support all breweries until proven guilty.

All the shitty death metal at Midwest beer festivals is the only thing keeping me from going full homer.

The Germantown section of Philadelphia and Columbus are the two best I've ever experienced and the Columbus Germantown is ten-fold the quality of Philadelphia's, so I agree with both of your statements. Outside of PA and OH, I can't really rationalize why there would be any interest in German beer on the East Coast, however, in it's niche, it thrives and that niche is Philly and Columbus.

Author who bases the stories of his character Dave Robicheaux in Bayou Teche, New Iberia Parish, and New Orleans. Dave and his buddy Clete, often drink a lot of beer, but as it chases down spirits, I don't think it is craft beer.

Yeah, I was having a little fun. Assumed he was an author. But that "Lee" does find its way into a lot of Southern names, and always seems to bring a certain musical cadence with it.

I live in the midwest and am a homer for beers that are readily available to me, which are mostly midwestern beers, since I don't trade.

This east coast BA doesn't quite identify with that.

I do like malty stuff, but I definitely favor hoppy, bright beers. In fact, I think the east coast/west coast division of hoppy beers is now nothing more than folklore at this point. There are now many wonderfully hoppy, so called "west-coast style" IPAs made on the east coast that equal or surpass many west coast IPAs I've had.

Regarding German styles, I'm biased. I was born in Germany and still have family there, so of course I love German styles.

I guess I don't fit in. Live in the NE, and am old. I prefer Barleywines, Belgians and other higher ABV beers. I also shaved my beard off about a year ago.

Definitely a Cali stereotype, but homer also (SN) love the BAs, the IIPAs, and the Sours... Oh yeah, almost forgot... beard, tattoos, and it sure is a shame that ISIS broke up!

Mid 20's here. I don't have any tattoos or piercings, I don't own a hoodie and I'm not overweight. If it wasn't for the beard, I guess I'd have to stop drinking craft beer all together.

Edit to add: most metal sounds like ear **** to me

Just scrolled really fast through all this stuff and it seems that people are talking about the Simpsons. Since we're on the topic, I want to say that "Germans have a word for everything."

But seriously, I would stereotype a BA as someone who uses technology a lot to access other people's opinions in order to form their own, just like Pinterest or Reddit.

I don't even know what's going on with this thread. I clicked it, scrolled down and read "Fat Neckbeards" or something like that. Whenever I see a guy with a gnarly fat-ass neckbeard, I wonder to myself... where are all the lame ass posers with the overgrown chest-beards rising up and overflowing their in-n-out vs five guys spectacle Planters peanut guy necklace wearing virgin vegans at a time like this? Probably off enjoying some Pliny the Younger and not even logged in to teh internets. Watching. Just not posting. Too busy... being TOTALLY AWESOME!!1 Either way, I think I gotta shave my neck-chest-beard now.
