    Hey all,

Most of my beer tasting buddies are all spread out and it takes a lot of planning to throw together a tasting, let alone having a Bavarian Lodge night. I'm looking to participate in something regularly!

Any BA groups in the West burbs/Naperville area?

I'd also like to work on getting on put together for semi-regular whatnots. I also feel kinda greedy poppin a bomber by myself. Haha. Also, you might have a bit better luck if you change this to "South West Burbs" group. Most people consider what is north of us to be the "western burb" area. Food for thought.

Bizarre! If you draw a line directly west of Chicago you are.... here.... :astonished: I always considered SW Burbs to be Joliet/Orland Park, etc.

    Regardless! Now we are two!

I'd be in for this...I'm in Naperville (that's a western burb right? )

I would also like to join your wolfpack. I live 5 min from Bfro in Oswego.

    Sweet! Our wolfpack is growing.

Some suggestions for places to meetup:
    Bavarian Lodge - Lisle
    Limestone Brewery/Restaurant - Plainfield
Solemn Oath Taproom (no food) - Naperville
    World of Beer - Naperville
    Two Brothers Roundhouse - Aurora
    Two Brothers Taproom - Warrenville
I'm not familiar with Oswego spots, but I'm open to hop that direction as well!

Lastly, it doesn't even have to be an establishment, it could be a nice park area, or somewhere that allows us to bring some brews to share. Let me know your thoughts either way!

Also, I was thinking of maybe having the initial "let's see who shows up" meet-up in August some time.

I'm in the Geneva area. I'd love to get into something like this.

I will add to this list: Tap House Oswego and Plainfield. Both of them almost always have pretty solid tap lists. You can check them out on beermenus. Also, Limestone is no longer open. They're supposed to be relocating to the Fox Valley area sometime.

Are you assuming these establishments will allow beer to be brought in and consumed on premise? Something would probably need to be worked out with management/owner to do tastings at their restaurant/bar.

That wasn't my initial intention, although it would be cool if we could arrange something.

My first thought was just to start gathering a like minded group of individuals that enjoy craft beer in the same geographic region. I figured somewhere like Bavarian would have enough variety that we could easily have some things we've never tasted, for example.

If there is some sort of place that we could bring our own brews that would be sweet, although you're on the right track that we'd have to work something out with the establishment.

Any other thoughts/recommendations are welcome! I just kinda wanted to get the ball rolling since I'm lacking regular beer camaraderie!

I'd be more for a bottleshare than a meet-up, but maybe a meet-up would likely lead to a bottleshare. My problem is that I have too many bombers of huge beers that I can't drink more than one of myself. Also, the bottleshare from dark lord was so epic that I want to recreate as much of that as possible.

I'm out in LitH/Algonquin, but I'd love to meet some BAs and taste some beer.

My wife and I live in good old Lombard and would definitely be willing to join the western burbs Wolfpack. I'll add Lunar on St. Charles in Villa Park as a potential place to gather that doesn't mind if you bring your own bottles (as long as you're quiet about it). And of course Bigby's in Addison, which is my current mainstay and a real hidden gem. Don't know how they feel about bringing bottles in though. They are pretty laid back and have a patio, though, so it could work out.

Interested in both bottlesharing/tasting and/or just general meetups.

Count me in as interested and I 2nd the Lunar as we have done shares in there before. BTW, drove by Lunar today and they had a malt shipment that sitting on the sidewalk. They were just starting to bring it into the brewing area.

Would it be prudent to stop in and/or call Lunar or Bigby's to see about setting aside time/space for a meetup/share? If so, do either of the proponents who commented above live close enough to get some details?

I was thinking sometime in mid/late August to make it easier for people to set aside an afternoon/evening in advance.

Also! Do we want to establish a bottle theme, or just see what people bring?
