My brother finally found some Black Butte XXIV in Alaska and is shipping me some bottles this week, if they show up in time I'll be bringing one along next week.

I'm bringing a Black Butte XXI so it will be nice to see how it has developed over 3 years. I'll also bring multiples of Heady Topper so there should be enough for the large group. Looking forward to a great gathering!

FYI, talked to some of the Bigby's folks over the weekend and they're good with our group being slightly bigger than we first thought. From experience, it doesn't really get super crowded in there until at least 7-8, so we should have plenty of time to share and chat. Don't know that they'll spot us food, but we can certainly order some.

    Stuff I'm bringing for sure:

    - Dark Lord 2012
    - BCS Coffee
    - TBA Growler of Solemn Oath Beer (heard last weekend that they were brewing a full batch of Khlorost, their Wit infused with coffee beans, so it will likely be that, but otherwise will be the best/most interesting thing they have on offer)

    Other stuff I'm probably bringing:

    - Belgian Red
    - Ale Asylum Bedlam (Belgian IPA with heavy citra hop presence)
    - Maybe a can of Tallgrass Oasis (dry-hopped "double ESB" - like Goose Island Harvest Ale on steroids)

Incidentally, is there any interest in trading in the future?

Anyway, hope to see you all there. Been looking forward to this for a while!

And thanks to everyone in advance for bringing some great stuff! I remember seeing about 50 cans of Heady Topper on the curb at Dark Lord Day but never was in the right place at the right time to get a taste. Looking forward to that for sure.

Sounds good about Bigby's. Looking forward to finally putting some names with faces!

Trading is definitely on the docket! Always looking to expand my horizons and share the wealth.

I'll also be bringing extra bottles just in case.

Sadly my box of Black Butte XXIV won't get here until next Tuesday (FedEx from Alaska is sloooow) so I'll have to fall back on the other stuff in my cellar.

What time were we planning on meeting? I ran thru the thread and can't find a time.
    Thanks...really excited for tonight!

Yep, 5pm. That's what the Bigby's folks have on their calendar. I'll probably be by around quarter to or so.

By the way, forgot to ask them if we could stash stuff in the fridge during the share...assuming we probably can, but may be good to bring icepacks/whatever when you come with your stuff if you've got em.

Hey y'all, quick FYI - my sister and her friend happened to be out in the burbs this weekend and asked if they could tag along. They're not super knowledgeable and said they'd be cool with not drinking anything that would be wasted on them (in other words, no worries about trying to underpour everyone so that they can get a taste). They'll bring a little something and I'm going to bring some stuff to cover for them regardless. Would this be alright with everyone?

Sorry for the short notice and next time I'll ask the group well in advance before I invite anyone else!

    Adam,
Thanks for organizing everything Saturday, I don't mind traveling but Bigby's was just 10 minutes away so I had no excuse for not stopping by to taste some GREAT beers. I enjoyed it, Cheers, Jim

Thanks Adam, looking forward to the next one. Bummed I had to leave before all the bottles got opened, that was a nice line-up.

Had a blast last night, thanks to everyone who came as we had a pretty great beer lineup, and it was great to meet more BAs.

CrushedVol's Cascade Summer Gose was an awesome small beer considering how many big beers we had, I'm definitely going to seek out more goses now in hopes something locally available is nearly as good. (By the way, I've got your growler, I'll clean/sanitize it and bring it to the next meetup)

Hey everyone! Thanks to all of you who could make it last night. There was a great turnout, and as expected everyone was very cool.

For those who didn't show or couldn't make it, I hope to see you all at the next (official) tasting which will probably be in October. Since it seems like we have a good number of people I'll start a mass email to everyone who's signed up and organize that way (as opposed to on the forums).

Also, there was talk of BBQ's and perhaps small gatherings in the interim. Anyone interested in having people over for a brew, getting together to talk trade, or helping Ed plan his bottleshop, feel free to hit up the spreadsheet and email people. I could really go for some grilling! Mmmmm.....burgers....

Lastly, I took pictures of all of the individual beers I'd never tried, and also did a group shot of all the bottles (minus growlers that were taken home). I'll work on getting those pics posted on the blog in the next few days. If you'd like to check out my blog in the meanwhile:

    http://adamdrinksbeer.tumblr.com/

And if you want to check out my current cellar:
    http://www.cellarhq.com/cellar/adamdrinksbeer
-most of this stuff is up for bringing to a tasting, but with limited quantities probably not for trade atm

Looking forward to the next tasting everyone! Feel free to hit me up any time to get together for a brew/hang out.

    Best,
    Adam
