1554 Enlightened Black Ale from New Belgium. To be honest, I think I had it once several years ago but since I didn't review it and currently have no clear recollection of what it tastes like I defaulted to not counting it as a "had"

Back when it was the top 100 list I set about trying to tackle them all. Knowing that the list was ever changing, I just chose a day and made that MY top 100 list (that way I wouldnt have to worry about keeping up to date with the every changing variations). I set out to do this sometime between 2.5 and 3 years ago. Flash forward to today, and I have still not completed it. Ive drank 94, have one in the cellar waiting for a special occasion, and still have 5 I am trying to acquire.

As rough estimations, I was able to drink about 60 within the first 6 months, 25 within the next 6 months, and then only about 10 over the last year and a half. Its been a lot of time, effort, and money; but its been a worthwhile experience. I still get excited when I open up one of the last few bottles on my list. And its given me the chance to try many many incredible beers I otherwise would have probably never considered trying to obtain.

Now that being said, the top 100 list I have been chasing is way different then the current top 250, and many more of the beers are my list were "Beers of Fame" beers and thus more easily obtainable. With the current list having so many one offs and whalezbro type of beers I cant imagine undertaking the task now.

I have a combination of the '250 lists' and after reading your post realize I should include retired beers as well. Thanks for the idea!

Ba has the data already, I would to see what gets generated on a retired list. Must be insane!

just went and checked on this. had no idea what i had been drinking in reference to the list, but somehow 25% of the beers i have tried are on it which is intersting. I'm glad to see beers like SNPA on this list.
