Is this just local Distro or will it go national?

I don't. It is stone, you had to figure they would make more. All of these breweries are gonna remake the one off's if they are great beers. And with Stone you had to figure that they had the capability to make lots of it.

I don't either. Those 7month b1 bottles just got more value haha.

What's the different between the Xoco and Loco? I had assumed Loco was the barrel aged versions of Xoco until I saw the Xoco Charred being released

just to clear one thing up it should be noted that the batch number corresponds with the small batch release number of each 500ml bottle through the year (excluding any bastard beers). doesnt mean that there were 7 batches of xocoveza brewed (since there havent been that many!)

Regular xoco is one of my favorite non-BA stouts ever. That said, I can't justify paying more for one 500ml bottle of the BA version than I would for a 6-pack of regular. Especially considering the 7 month aged batch didn't have that much barrel character to begin with, and now that aging period has been more than halved.

New BA xoco is 10% ABV

First BA xoco is 8.9% ABV

Just downed the 3 month aged version last night. Still a great beer. Pretty balanced with the bourbon notes. Better than the regular, definitely. Less carb, little less sweet makes it an easy drinker.

Drank a bottle of the 3 month BA....didn't really like it as much as the 7 month. Somehow a lot hotter with less time in the barrel...maybe my palate was off. Have another bottle so I will see.
    Cheers!

Interesting. Definitely agree on the muted, but wouldn't use harsh or hotter to describe the barrel character. Liked this bottle better than my final 7-month, but would rather drink regular Xoco full time.

Buyer beware. I had Xocoveza Charred and it was lacking bourbon barrel presence because it was aged 3 months. I will never but it again especially at $18 a bottle.

You may have felt that the beer lacked bourbon barrel presence, but it does not therefore follow that it was BECAUSE it was aged for (only) 3 months.
