Anyone in the Ithaca area been to this new brewery? Ithaca Coffee had a tasting at the Ithaca Coffee store Wednesday eve. Very Lite tasting beer-not Craft beer worthy IMO.

I went over to that brewery a week ago. I'm not much of a blonde ale drinker, but I thought theirs was good for the style. The red rye was a bit light on flavor for me. Their IPA was very balanced, which won't go over well with anyone that identifies themselves as a hop head (I think it straddles the Pale Ale and IPA styles a bit, so you could really call it either one). They're not exceptional and don't really stand out much, I agree.

I've yet to try their beer, but they're relatively new to the scene (February). The background story is a bit ummm interesting.

A guy who wasn't a beer drinker decides to build a fitness center. The business model flops, but he owns a big empty building. He decides that since beer is getting popular that he should open a brewery. He finds a homebrewer through friends and sends her to brewing school. They now run a brewery.

I've only had the blonde and thought it was decent. I didn't even know they existed until I found it on tap at Ithaca Ale House. I'm interested in at least trying the rest of the lineup eventually.
