    Hello everyone,

I'm off from school for 10 days and of that, i'll be home for almost a week. I'm looking for help as I continue to explore the long island beer scene. I live within 5 minutes of tap and barrel in Smithtown so I've had plenty of local beers, but I want to visit more breweries. So far I've visited Blue Point Brewing Co. and Port Jeff Brewing Co. I was thinking of going to visit Brooklyn, Greenport Harbor, or Southampton Publick House. Any suggestions? Anything I'm overlooking?

Barrier Brewing in Oceanside is kind of a nano brewery right now, but I think they will show you around and do growler fills on Saturday afternoons. If you are looking for a full scale operation, there is also Great South Bay in Bay Shore and Long Ireland in Riverhead. And if you are looking to head into the city on the day you head into WIlliamsburg, you have Chelsea Brewing and a few Heartland Brewery locations in Manhattan.

I highly recommend Southampton. Much nicer than your average brewery and the food that comes out of their kitchen is amazing.

cant lose at brooklyn and if you get tired of the brewery, go stumble around the hipster neighborhood.

Heartland is by far the worst brewery around. I would not suggest this.
