Curious as to the availability of this. I have a friend who lives in VT (Reading, to be specific) and I wanted to know if this was something I should ask him to look out for. Is it something he might see at a random beer shop?
You will not find it at a random shop. I have found it at Meulemans' in Rawsonville. Here is the web link to availability. http://www.backacrebeermakers.com/availability.php
This beer is awesome and so worth seeking out. I wish I had time to grab some bottles when I was up there.
You are in luck. Reading is close by Ludlow and Chester. Medetrina almost always has it. I didn't see it at Brewfest last time I was in there (7/27). Call ahead to be sure.
I was looking for it at Brewfest too, but didn't see it either. I really hope they start expanding distribution into to Burlington
I snagged a few bottles a couple months ago at Medetrina and I was very pleased when I finally cracked open a bottle a few weeks ago. I know seeking out those Vermont Beers can feel more like a scavenger hunt than your typical shopping trip, bud I'd say add Backacre to your list of ones to hunt down. Its well worth it.
Damn, I was just in VT too and didn't research this enough. I was too focused on drinking HF and Lawson's. A short drive and I could have picked it up. Thanks for the info! I'll try to talk my friend into an outing to one of those places.
I think it is still available by the bottle for on-premises consumption at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier if seeking a try-before-you-buy...
