I hadn't heard of this one before. Backlash - Death chipotle imperial stout. Do you know if they still used peppers in this round? I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

Anyone see it north of Boston? I think it came and went at Redstone but would still like to try and snag a bottle.

Had it on tap the other day at Flatbread in Davis. Didn't get a whole lot of spice though...

I saw it at Liquor World and it had no mention of chipotles on the bottle. Maybe it was what messed up the first batch so it was left out of the recipe. Seems like something you want to add on the label and isn't it required by law if you add some other kind of ingredients/flavoring to beer?

Tried this at Beer Summit. Don't remember anything indicating peppers and certainly didn't taste like it.

    Hey Guys-

No chipotles in Death this time around. The smokiness they contributed last year really confused the shit out of the beer, made it ashy/bitter and made me generally sad. I left them out this time to nail down the base recipe before layering in any cockamamie nonsense. That's not to say that we won't eventually add in some stuff later on if it fits. Also the beer is a touch drier than I would've liked, but I digress.

Big thanks to Rob from Night Shift for shooting me this thread- I am very bad at the interwebs.

Thanks everyone for your support, we'll try and keep the good beers coming to your respective word-makers.

    Helder

Currently drinking one. 9.0% ABV and no hint of pepper or spice at all. Tastes like a classic imperial stout. The best part of it is the mouth feel. Perfect, not too chewy or thin. Picked it up in Framingham MA in a bomber.

Good to know there's no spice, I was questioning my palate when I had it on draft. An excellent imperial stout though.

Hey Helder, Any chance that this lands anywhere in Berkshire County?
