I typically don't bring beer backpacking because of the weight. It's usually just little whiskey and smoke. But, with all the cans of quality stuff out there these days, I think I might toss in a few cans of TenFidy or something for the next trip. I know there are backpackers on here, so what do you guys bring?

Last time I took any with me, I went with Founders All Day. Can't beat it for the heat in my opinion... I mean, unless you wanna drink water or gatorade I guess.

If I'm taking beer on a hike its Dale's Pale Ale. Not too big, and super refreshing.

Mountain mix everytime. Very hard to concoct though. Cheap vodka and any powdered drink mix, preferably Tang for me. My uncle brought a few beers once that was a dam fine treat, but I want the most bang for my load. My old man used to love 151 rum. He said it does the job quick and makes a great lighter fluid. I think my first taste of alcohol was at a young age when pop let me hit his cognac on a cold weather trip, shit lights up your insides and is why I still pack it in during the cold season. For nightcaps, nothing beats a hot toddy with your choice of tea and liquor, I prefer brandy. Back to the beer... great for camping but not so much packing. I think u have the right idea w the Ten Fidy tho and that's prob what I would bring. Hopefully you can chill it just a tad in a nearby creek or stream. Have fun.
