Loved the introductory release of this beer; however, the particulates have seemed to disappear. Has anyone else taken notice? Drinking a bottle dated 5/19 now and, while it tastes delicious, I'm definitely noticing the change in appearance. This isn't meant to be negative or positive -- just pointing out what I see.
It could just be how it was bottled. If they use finings to clarify the beer, then all of the particulate matter will be encouraged to settle out towards the bottom of the tank. Sometimes during bottling, that stuff will make it into the final packaged product if they go too far- but even then the earlier cases should be clear.
They're working very hard on eliminating the "floaties." Maybe they just solved it now. It is a new release they're probably tinkering with. Delicious beer though. *Edit I remember reading on their website that it takes about 7-10 days for the floaties to appear. Could still be too young.
Great beer. Like mentioned above, the brewmaster sent out a letter kind of explaining what was going on and how he was working on fixing it. I will gladly look for the clear version because I had one that I had left in my fridge for a few weeks maybe a month and the floaties had coagulated on the bottom into a weird sludge that was less than enjoyable to say the least. Definitely would try more though since it's such a good beer for price. My thoughts.
Just had one of these from a newly bought bottle (didn't notice if there was a date on it). I've never seen a beer with as much sediment as this one had. Still enjoyed it though.
No argument there...like i said to a buddy of mine I would rather have 12 of these than 6 sculpin for about the same price
See the previous thread on the floaties; they're not supposed to be there. That said, it tastes delicious either way. (I had no major floaty issues, but I've only had it on draft, so take that for what it's worth.)
