My perception is that this guy thinned out and reminded me of a Werther's. Thin but still hot. I'm firmly in the fresh camp. It's good but meh. You're welcome for the comprehensive review.

It's been discussed over and over in older threads. General consensus is that it's best fresh, and if you prefer it aged, you're a wuss.

I'm in the camp that fresh is best, but the beer doesn't suck if it gets old. I buy enough that I end up having it with close to a year on it anyways.. It's sweeter, less hot, less barrel, and more smoke.

I like fresh, I don't think it's all that hot and boozy, but I also find that coconut and vanilla note fresh to be what I'm after when I crack one. It's gone with age.

I agree, I prefer this fresh and actually gave away most of my aged Backwoods.

Is Gucci Mane fond of fresh or aged BWB?

I'm not sure on the fresh vs aged, but I definitely preferred the 2013 batch to the 2012. I think this is mainly due to batch variation. Both are drinking delicious though.

Fresh. I started cellaring just a year ago, and this was the first beer that I tried after stashing for a little bit. Now I totally get it when people say, "if you aren't sure, just age it and give it a try." Real glad I did, but that's the last time I save BB for more than a few months.
