Backwoods Bastard '14

Haven't seen it yet in SE Mich, but store people I've talked to seemed to think next week, which would jibe with Founder's announced release date of November 3rd. Other than KBS though, those are rarely hard release dates, and the store owners could just be going off that.

 

It sounds like they're waiting for a November 1st release date, at least for WI.

 

Based on some Twitter searches I did coupled with some comments on other threads, it looks like it's popped up in New York, Missouri, and Massachusetts already.

 

Is there typically a limit to how many 4 packs you can buy at the brewery? And presumably they won't sell before November 3?

I've never had too much trouble finding Backwoods Bastard in the past. But I went into my local shop tonight and I asked if I could put my name on some lists for upcoming releases. I wasn't expecting to see a list for Backwoods let alone the fact it was FOUR PAGES LONG AND HAD ABOUT 90 NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS ON IT! Is there more buzz with this beer going on this year compared to the past?

I'm with Mike - I'll just go get it at Founder's and spare me the hassle of chasing it elsewhere.

 

Two years ago a place I frequent in Chicago's western 'burbs was charging 8 bucks a bottle for BB. Last year they forgot to gouge and sold it at MSRP right off the shelf.

 

How much is it at Founders?

That's a great price point. Less than 30 cents an ounce!

Generally does it sell out in a day/weekend/week?

Most likely very good. Truly, this beer isn't hard to get in Michigan.

 

I was sucking it down on tap October 2013, eleven months after it was released.
