Backwoods Bastard 2015

Hey guys- We, in western ND, finally got Founders beers on the shelves. So far... BS, Porter, DB, All Day, and Centennial. So, I think BB will show up in November sometime. For people that live in smaller towns, 50k or less, do you think I'll see any KBS in the spring?

 

$14/15 is what I usually pay. You got gouged by 4 different stores...do you live in traverse city?

Popped one last night - must agree with some earlier posts. Best one yet. Higher ABV but you can't taste it at all - matter of fact I'd say its smoother than last year and even better/deeper flavor. As soon as I finished the first one I went back and picked up another 4 pack. Probably have a few more then let the rest age.

 

I guess I'll need to wait until they show up in S.NJ/Philly, since you said they had a small shipment.

 

Have to add that I'm hoping it appears on tap at Founders, since I'm visiting my family next week in Michigan

 

No, I am in the metro Detroit area. Does anyone know what 4 packs go for at the brewery?

 

They got 2 cases monday. I bought 3 - 4 packs myself that day - one was for a co worker 2 for me. Popped one last night and enjoyed it so much I wanted some more to age. When I picked up another 4 pack last night there was only 1 left on the shelf. I'm fairly sure it didn't last long. They do have some Harvest Ale left.

 

Totally lucked out today: Decided to take a trip "over the bridge" to Cherry Hill. Walked into a bottle shop and they had a CASE of 2015 Backwoods Bastard. Snapped it up and I'm really psyched about trying the new vintage. One of my top 5 favorite beers

 

I'm drinking a fresh backwoods side by side with a 2014.
The 2014 is much better and more refined than the fresh version in my opinion. I think this beer is much better with age. This year's also has a cherry/estery flavor I'm not used to. There is usually some year to year variation but it's a little more obvious this year.
I hope they didn't change their process to make more.

 

I work in Jersey so I usually buy my beer there. Found it at Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville. I think it was like $11.75 a four pack btw

 

Any sightings in NW Ohio yet??

I stopped at several bottle shops today and bought a total of six 4-packs of Backwoods and two 4-packs of Harvest Ale. The price of the Backwoods really varied: I paid from $13.99 to $18.00. It's one of my absolute favorites and worth the hour and a half after work.

 

Founders said it will be 16 a pack at the brewery.

 

How much was it last year? Cases were always 72 out the door until 2013 I believe

 

One thing I cannot stand is a store over-pricing product. What I cannot stand even more is the people who shop at these stores. I know, I know.. It may be some peoples only option, and people may be willing to fork over the extra cash just because the store is consistent(fair'ish in my eyes) but not those fucks that over charge an extra five bucks. CMON PEOPLE

 

I'm not a Michigander, but I'm about 20 miles from the border and I feel the same! I asked the guy at my shop today if they got BB and he said "November release". I said I know what the website says, but....!

 

Founders cares little about Grand Rapids and the state so much that Michigan got its distribution a full two weeks before the rest of the footprint.

I was just lucky to be in Michigan at that time
