Backwoods Bastard 2015

Was floored when I saw this last night in my area thought it was long gone; picked up 4 bottles. I was very impressed with how hidden the alcohol was. Awesome beer!

 

One of the best barrel aged beers that isn't super limited can age these for quite a while. Love this beer

 

The nearest BevMo still has 4 cases of it....I guess people are really put off by the $19.99 price tag per 4 pack

 

In IL, WI, MN it was no more than $15.99/4pk with most at $13.99 - and it is a great value at that price for a great beer and that is why I got a case of it. At $19.99 I would only get one 4pk.

has anyone had any oxidized flavor in any of theirs yet?
I got a couple 4pks back in October, with 9/24 bottling dates.
First bottle was fine. Cracked my second bottle tonight, and the aftertaste/ending notes were oxidized almost metallic flavored. It could have been from letting it sit and pouring the trace amount of sediments that settled out, into the glass?

 

Drinking my 3rd. It's delicious. I have 7 left, but now I wish I bought a case. Great stuff!

 

I loved this years but maybe im crazy this year I just couldn't taste any of the base beer.

 

I'm about to drink my fourth from the pack, so let's find out!

Tasted just like the others. But the others were outstanding, so that's definitely not a bad thing!

 

working on my third pack now and can confidently say there is substantial bottle to bottle variability. i've had 3 or so that were just meh - drinkable but very disappointing. sucks considering the cost, but the good ones are just so good that i still ended up buying a case.

 

Imagine if they did KBS like bwb would be awesome

Was able to pick up a full case this. I've only had one so far and did like it. Last year I only bought a 4 pack (my first time trying it out) and regretted not buying more, still have 2 of those and will be doing some taste comparisons soon.

 

I was going to buy another 4-pack, but tried my first one and thought the bourbon flavor that initially hits the taste buds was nice, but then it turned into a very plain beer. It seems thin and uninteresting. Not sure if it was bottle variability, my palate for that day or somethign else, but now I've hesitated on buying another 4-pack.

 

That would be all day IPA.

 

$12.99/4pack unbeatable deal as far as I'm concerned. Love this beer and such a bargain!

 

I wouldnt consider that a cashgrab. Theres no hype, exclusivity, overpricing and gimmicky bullshit with All Day. Its just a kickass beer they sell a ton of.

 

This is precisely why I don't like the one bottle I've consumed so far. Since people say Founders has consistency issues, I'm hoping the other 3 have something in it. I am going to wait another month or two to age before I try another.
