You missed the last two words...."cheapest its ever been around here". As you can see, pricing is different all over the country. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but you'd never find it as low as $11.99 here in MI unless its a pricing error, and its brewed here. I believe its $16 at the brewery. So congrats on your bargain pricing, I'm jealous.

Fair enough. It's the cheapest I've seen in my 1/3 decade of buying it.

FWIW, I swung through Beer Store Malvern today - $25.99/4pk. I hate that place.

Back when it was a shelf turd (2009 or 2010), Whole Foods in Ann Arbor had a display with backwoods for 6.99. Up until last year or the year before it was always 72/case out the door at founders. There was a price increase though so it is now usually 13.99 to 14.99

I was at Wegmans in KOP recently and they didn't have a price on it when I was there so I asked, when it rang up at $11.99 I jumped right on it. I have only had one bottle so far but wonderful as always and I really enjoy this beer.

Display shelf of it at the Collegeville Wegman's, $11.99. They had lots yesterday.

This has always been one of my favorites, but I will say the 2016 version doesn't seem quite up to par with past iterations. Overall lighter maltiness throws the balance off...makes the oak character seem much stronger, bitterness stronger, and body a little lighter. This beer always seems better at 6-12 mths once the edges have mellowed a bit, so we'll see how the rest of the 4pk goes

I'm picking up my case tomorrow and I can't wait . Maybe for once I can buy a case of something and actually save some for a later date . Hasn't worked for me yet . Lol
This will be my sipper for much of the next few weeks . Fresh Long Island oysters were picked up today and are awaiting their companion. Mmmmm mmmm
    Cheers

I'm actually debating buying a case this year to save some for aging to see how it tastes and giving a few with gifts for the holidays...at the very least I will buy another 4 pack or two, this beer is delicious.

I saved a case from last year and did a side by side this year and last years tasted so much better so the aging of this is worth it.

We had 4 other people try it and they all agreed that the 2015 was delicious.

I remember having a 2014 when I was new to barrel aged beer, probably a few months after release date, and liking it a lot. Was disappointed when the 2015 came out as I didn't remember it tasting like that, but didn't save any. I've opened one of my 2016s so far and it seemed exactly like how I remembered the 2015, so maybe aging is a good plan on these.

I don't know how you guys save these brews. . You all have some great willpower
I picked up my 2016 case on Saturday and I've already destroyed half of it.. I have some other choices in the fridge, but I keep going back to this one . I'm going to try my hardest to put a 4 pack away until next year, but it won't be easy :slight_frown:
I've been drinking these at room temperature and they are still amazing . On Sunday my wife said you seem a little drunk tonight . Lol..
Not drunk just a little buzzed from hanging with Mr Backwoods Bastard . Hahahaha

I get the freshest and juiciest Long Island Salts and trust me if you love raw oysters, well the combo of the saltiness and then the rich flavor follow up of the BB is amazing .
Yesterday I paired it with some Wyeke Farms sharp aged cheddar cheese and that was also a delicious combo .
I guess I'm just becoming a huge fan of BB with just about anything

My first bottles of this were extremely smooth while I heard others talk about it being 'boozy' and it needing to age.

But every bottle I've had since my 1st 4-pack have been tasting 'hotter' and 'boozier'... I thought that was supposed to mellow out with age...

So I'm wondering if maybe there is some variation between bottles? Maybe some barrels came out with my alcohol than others?

    Or maybe its just me?

Agreed I'm drinking one now that reminds me of the 2015 so either time helped or bottles are hit or miss as I drank about two cases last year

I'm sitting on 12 myself. I hope so! Love this beer.
