Im going to be in Texas for two months so I'm not very familiar with Founders special releases. Does Texas receive this, and if so how late into November do we get it here? Does it fly off the shelves or is it easy to find?
The good news: it does make it's way here and I didn't feel like to "flew off shelves" the way I'd imagine it does in Michigan and possibly other parts of the country. The bad news: Texas always receives Founders releases SO DAMN LATE!!! It'll be showing up around the rest of the country and all our BA friends will be posting on "What Are You Drinking Now #----" seemingly weeks before it arrives here. If you're in Houston, you'll likely get it first at Spec's downtown or Spring Valley location.
I'd figure out what your "flagship" Spec's is in that area and that'll likely be your best bet. Good Luck!
Pretty sure I found it at Whole Foods last year. But that was the Plano location not sure about others.
As everyone who's looked for anything "just released" knows, this is the case for just about everything from outside of TX in TX. Logistics of getting the liquid here and then getting it to all portions of the state from distributor hub is lengthy. I feel like last year we received for our Black Friday release, or just before. In Dallas, your "Flagship" Spec's location will be store #150 - ( http://www.specsonline.com/cgi-bin/showmap?store=150& ) The beer guy/girl there should be able to get you more specific info from their distributor on an ETA if they've received one yet.
There's a lot sitting on shelves in Austin. I kept seeing it and would pick up another 4 pack each time I saw it for $12 (at HEBs)
Saw one box at Central Market (on Westheimer & Wesleyan) today around 2pm. I already bought mine from Spec's, but if you're still on the hunt, get to CM quick.
