I'm looking to get as much Backwoods Bastard as possible (2 or more 4-packs). Can I get them $4$? I was thinking about trading some of my FFF bombers for them. I have:
    2 Moloko
    1 Behemoth
    1 Alpha Klaus

Any help would be great. I only have 1 trade completed so far, and would really like to deal with a veteran. Should I just ask for references or what?
    Cheers!

Trading 3 Floyd's might not get it done. Seeing as Founders can be found everywhere in the Midwest, a lot of what you're offering isn't too limited and can be had by someone who got Backwoods Bastard. But it's definitely worth a shot. Hell, if I had 2 4-packs I'd trade it to you.

To answer the second part of your question, yes. Just ask for references if they aren't listed in their profile. If someone is hesitant to give you their references, reconsider trading with them. With that said, most veteran traders will most likely want you to ship first, especially with this only being your second trade.

I hope I was able to help. Cheers, Tom

Founders is distributed far beyond the midwest to many places that dont get FFF.

behemoth and moloko aren't all that easy to find, there's tons of BWB, you should get this done easily

When moloko was out I couldn't go to a bottle shop without tripping over it. It's seasonal, so of course it isn't around now...

That's like saying KBS is hard to find in October. No shit, it's out of season. That doesn't give it any more trading weight.

um it means less people have it, might want it, and would be willing to trade an easily available beer for it. lol

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm hoping to put this up tomorrow and test the waters a bit. As far as sending first, that's no problem. I guess my next question would be extras. What's the unwritten rule on them? Do you tell the person your trading with what your sending? Is a pint glass considered an extra or is it mainly just beers?

don't tell them, the surprise is half the fun of trading. it's nice to receive glassware but you should throw in a beer or two as well.

Send whatever you wouldn't mind getting as an extra. A few beers would suffice, but throwing in a pint glass would be an awesome gesture! Good luck on your trade, like I said, I'd do the trade if I had enough backwoods. I only got 4 bottles total this year and one of them was given to me as an extra.

    Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving!

If you have any trouble getting this done, let me know. I'm trying to avoid shipping as much as possible but next time I drive to Chicago I would trade you a 4pk.

I just got a Moloko in Vancouver Canada rather easily, if that helps show what it's worth...

The general rule I follow when sending out a box is "would I love to open this box?"

If the answer is anything, but "hell yes" then I adjust accordingly and make I send out something I'd like receive in return. Just a nice rule of thumb I follow that my past trading partners have seemed to enjoy.

Treebs, do you look at their wants list and go from there? Or do you figure out a style and find beers that are local to you?

I go on seekabrew.com and see what they don't get and try to send a few solid brews from those breweries.
